Hamilton and Slavery - Unrevivable?
 Jan 15 2026, 09:50:36 AM

Today, and in the future, it is about making money and selling tickets.  Lion King, Wicked, Phantom, Les Mis, and Hamilton will cycle back and be performed for future generations in some form as they will still sell tickets based on name recognition and lore.  Hamilton won't disappear.

Baltimore Hippodrome dropping its mood board hints for the 2026/2027 season. Any guesses? See the link below.

- Maybe Happy Ending has already been announced as originating the tour here. So that's one.
- a library and red rose seems to lend itself to beauty and the beast.

Finally saw For Good in the theater yesterday,  About 3/4 full theater for the Sunday at 4 pm showing.  I would say it lagged behind Wicked 1 a touch, but still a simply outstanding movie on all fronts.  Madam Morrible underwhelms for me ... easily could have found a more intimidating villain character with real singing pipes.  But really loved how that wove the storyline and the passion that Grande and Erivo put into the roles leaps off the screen.  Really amazing st

We all have anecdotal evidence in our own lives of the vaccine's success. And the tragic loss of life when it was avoided. People begged for the shots in ERs across the nationwhen it was too late. Let us not now rewrite history and pretend that COVID was a cold and that younger, "stronger" people who took vitamins or w

Not selling well so you probably can do better at a Rush or LuckySeat.com, but if you'd like to buy direct use the code CAVIAR for 30% off.  Seats for $69 with the code.

The chandelier in Bmore definitely descended at a nice rate of speed. It gets raised to roofline for second act.

Is this tour similar to the Hal Prince production? Do they still have the bridge and boat? The costumes are certainly not nearly as ornate.

This tour is slated to run til August.  If the Paulus production is still running that long, it would be an impressive run.

Of note, Phantom had zero pairs of seats available for sale at Baltimore for any show in the weeklong run almost two weeks before opening night. A couple of mid-week shows had 1-3 single seats left when I looked.  There was no Rush, no Lucky Seat, and no other ticket sale promotions to fuel attendance.  Hippodrome seats 2250 patrons, and it seems that every show sold out at full ticket prices ... of course subscribers get a different (lower) price tag than single-show purchasing&nbs
