ok so idina has an amazing voice no matter what was altered technologically on the cd...and i agree that you cant tell ill you see a live performance (i have yet to see wicked but i should be seeing it soon...and my friend and i are making sure that i see it before idina leaves) but her performance at the tonys cant be used as an example of what her voice really sounds like...i mean she did great and didnt wimp out and mix anything...it was all belted...but she was sooo sick...like i wouldnt be

i agree that these range competitions are really dumb...and im not trying to compete with anyone...but one of my peeve is when people talk about things as though they know absolutely everything about it and then theyre wrong about a lot anyway...for your question about distinguishing between belts mixes and head voice...its kind of hard to explain...a lot of people that know what it sounds like when they do it are able to pick it out when other people do...to try and help id say that belts a

ok...inthemoney...so yeah...whatever...wow...would you like a medal or something for your range? cause congragulations you just met someone with a wider range than you...and just because idina has a lighter tone on some of her higher notes definately doesnt make her a soprano and whatever gave you that idea is in need of a little music help...sopranos have darker tones than altos on higher notes because it is easier for them to hit those notes...altos are lighter because theyre not so used to si

if you go to adampascal.org then theres this part where you can listen to different songs from some of his shows and cds and stuff and one of the songs is him and norbert singing "what you own" and it sounds soooooo good

re: Bye Bye Birdie Revival? Sep 12
2004, 12:20:37 AM
i agree that a lot of people wouldnt want to see it because of the suckiness of the movie...but the script is so much better than the movie...and i dont think casting it would be that hard...for rosie you just need a spanish solid alto...a baratone for albert (i think...cause in my school we had a bass and i think he had trouble hitting some of the notes but i dont remember) and for conrad you dont really need the best singer but they have to be gorgeous

re: Idina's 'note' Sep 12
2004, 12:05:23 AM
ok so yeah...she still an alto...an alto with am amazing range...cause yeah she can sing two c's above middle c but there are other altos that can do that...there is no soprano that can sing the end of "im not that girl" as strong as she does...and she mightve have been a soprano in high school or whatever but shes older than she was then and when you get older you cant sing as high as you used to be able to no matter how much training you go through...so she mightve have been a soprano then but

re: How to stop that darn vibrato? Sep 11
2004, 11:56:24 PM
i know that this is really bad to do but sometimes when youre desperate it works...i know that if youre tense while singing then you wont have vibrato...usually if your throat and neck are tense...this is really bad for your vocal chords but if you do it a couple times to get used to the sound and feel of it its usually easier to do what you want but correctly

ok so my drama club at school is the same way (we dont get any funding from anything else) but weve still been pretty successful in raising money for performances (recently weve done "bye bye birdie" and "anything goes") but one of the main tricks of raising money is to have fundraiser shows that dont cost any money to put on, but you charge for people to enter, plus you can sell concessions at the door (but like bake sale style...like have everyone performing buy or make something and then brin

re: musical secrets in wicked (where we don't bash teens) Sep 11

ok so you know how most plays sample a lot of their stuff from other plays...like they all share stuff as long as its not hugely obvious that thats where they got it...well in "no one mourns the wicked" when the father sings...when he sings the last part of his solo (i think the word is "heart") it sounds like its changing to thoroughly modern millie...plus a lot of the piano part in "wonderful" sounds like its from chicago

ill admit right off that i am a wicked fan...but some of the wicked fans are so retarded about this kind of thing...theyre like obsessed to the point where they cant take the fact that other people have opinions too and the only thing youre going to do by trying to change their opinion to yours is to thoroughly piss them off...and i dont get why people go to threads about one thing and then bad mouth whatever its about...like i get that people have their own opinions and i fine with that (if eve
