THE NOTEBOOK Broadway Previews
 Mar 6 2024, 02:09:11 PM

Saw this on our trip last month from the UK and I’m still thinking about it and raving about it to other people. I cannot wait for the cast recording to relive the music. It was honestly the highlight of the entire trip and the 5 other shows we saw.

Jackie Burns & Chandra Lee Schwartz extension?

I think the Broadway production has been very lucky to have such a varied range of actors playing the lead roles of Elphaba and Glinda. I think the Broadway community should be glad that they have such a high turnover and freshness to the roles compared to say the London production. So I say good on Jackie for staying with the role for longer than a year!

In over 6 years in London, it has only had FOUR principle Elphabas (Idina, Kerry, Alexia and current lead Rachel) and FOUR principle

I posted over on the Westend Board that looking at the new 'Set List' that was posted through the rehersal photos here on Broadwayworld there is quite a few song changes from the London/Aussie Productions:

Act 1
Opening number is no longer 'Downtown' and is now 'Its Raining Men'
They've cut 'I've never been to me'
'Venus' has been replaced with 'Material Girl'
'Both Sides Now' has been replaced with 'True Colours'

Act 2
'Kylie Medley' has been rep

Well considering Mary Poppins did over $1 million over July and August and then before July it was always doing over $700,000 since March so I think its just the slump that they are all going through?!

Hi Folks,

Just arrived back to the UK after 8 days holiday in NYC!! My partner and I managed to get to see 8 shows in total whilst there and here are my thoughts/reviews of the shows we saw...

Tuesday 22nd June - Wicked *****

We have seen this show more times than I can recall in London but my partner had never seen it on Broadway so we decided to see this first and get it out of the way! Thought the Broadway cast were extremely strong! Mandy and Katie were just super

Well I worked in NY state in 2006/2007 but only caught one Broadway show in that time! Its the first time my partner has been to NYC and he is a big musical fan like me! We're from the UK so we're going to see Hair in London before it closes in September. I've been looking into 'In the Heights' so thats a maybe! Not a keen South Pacific fan I have to say thou!?

I was thinking maybe West Side Story? What are people's reviews on that? Would have quite liked to have seen Little Night of M

Was just flicking through the internet and had never looked at The Actors' Equity Association website at the auctions they had coming up (was random as I am in UK and not an actor) and saw that on 13th & 14th April they are having calls for Female/Male ensemble dancers and on the 16th April they are having calls for Ensemble singers! Does this mean its back to moving forward and we actually might get to see it soon - was hoping it would be there when I am in NYC in June but very doubtful if anyt

Thanks for the advise guys! Me and my partner both agree we'll wait and just get them while we're there via tkts or if there not on (which looking at what people have said they should be) then we can always just buy from the box office without the fees :) thanks very much cannot wait now!!

Hello. I'm from the UK and coming to NYC in June... Was told to look into seeing this, and after seeing the Tony performance I really want to book for this. I know to book through Telecharge but its only letting me select dates til the end of May 2010... Does anyone know if they are extending the booking period or if it's closing? Also does anyone know if Alice Ripley is staying much longer? Thanks guys x x
$132.50.........Stop the insanity
 Jan 18 2010, 04:50:12 PM
I think what needs to be understood is people are now trying to save money!! Of course you'll always have the rich folk who can pay top dollar but majority will look for a deal and want the half price tickets at TKTS! Therefore, they have to put prices up because if they kept them low, the tickets that end up at TKTS, they arent getting alot! So if they put the prices $100 plus then the people who can pay it will and the ones who dont at least they'll get a min. of $50 which is what the need to

I read somewhere they are on sale to American Express holders already but wondered when they'll go on general sale? And where I would book them from? Ticketmaster.com?? Thanks people!
