Visited New York in 1996 specifically to see Buckley in Sunset Blvd. I think her renditions of the songs are the best. Unfortunately the night I had my ticket she was out.
i never did get to see her.

Pippin was my first broadway play on my first trip to New York also. That was in the 70’s with the original production. It has always held a special place in my heart!

Have only seen him in Charlie. His performance was ok, the production was so so. It made me not even want to see it on broadway!

Ben Platt is not what envision Tony to be but I don’t think his version of Maria is that bad. I actually enjoyed it!

Saw it on Broadway but not with OBC. Hated it.
Saw it several years ago at Tulane Summer Lyrc theater in New Orleans & loved it!

I have listened to all the leading ladies who have played Norma in London & on Broadway. IMO Betty Buckley has more emotion & soul than anybody else. I am so sorry she was out the night I went to see her on Broadway although I did get to hear her sing several of the songs at a concert in New Orleans.

I saw the OBC of Sweeney Todd when I was a student. I can't say how much I loved that show & cast. Angela & Len were magnificent in the roles. None of the recordings I have heard since come close IMO.
