LuPone and Webber "Bury the Hatchet"
So is she going to rename the Lloyd Webber Memorial Pool? lol

Well, she doesn’t own the house where that pool is located anymore, so it would probably be up to the new owners!
Now can she in Mandy do that one night benefit concert of Evita we’ve all been dreaming about??
I never thought I'd see the day when this would happen.

I’d pay large sums of money to see that. She still prides herself on the fact that she sings the songs in the original key (and loves to do it with Seth Rudetsky), and I would love to hear her do the whole show live.
Surely the “it’s time for a revival” comment was hinting that Andrew wants Patti to reprise her role aka Glenn Close in Sunset. This needs to happen!

My first thought at intermission of WAR PAINT was how much this needed to happen. She would destroy the score now in the best way.
It was her who needed to bury the hatchet, he never mentions her, she is not on his radar. She wrote a book trashing the man that made her famous. He is on another level...she is a bitter has-been known for being mean to her assistants and mean/diva-ish to people in general.
What a great story. I wonder if it’s true.

Has-been? She's working more now than ever. In just this decade 3 Tony nods (1 win), 6 broadway shows (with a trip to London's Company next), won 2 Grammys, Critics choice nominee for Penny Dreadful and has been doing steady voiceovers for Vampirina a hugely popular children's series. All in the last ten years. Bitter, maybe. Has-been, no. She's a workhorse.

Blah blah here we go again. Has been? Guess a has been means a Tony nomination last year, a great new live album, a performance at the Grammys, frequent tv gigs, and a high profile London production this year. The man fired her in a very cruel way and she’s not supposed to bring it up on her memoir?
Webber doesn’t exactly have a reputation for being kind.
You shouldn’t be telling anyone to let things go. You only appear on this board lately to bash LuPone.
I'm always happy to read a story of forgiveness - reconciliation. It would have been great had this happened a year ago when Sunset returned to NY, but whatever... They're both getting older. Life's too short for this type of crap.
I wonder if Glenn Close helped broker the truce since Patti and her supposedly had lunch together last year after Sunset finished its run

Well, one chapter in a book.
The fact they can do this in harmony seems far from becoming besties. Wishful thinking.

In the several years time I was able to meet with her backstage, she was ever so kind. In general, she doesn't put up with any nonsense and probably doesn't care about people who put her down. Muscle23ftl who?
Pay no attention to muscle. He has this weird axe to grind with LuPone and only pops in to bash her nowadays. Best to just ignore his statements and move along.
Patti is almost peaking now. Has she ever been a better actress? Her voice is absolutely pristine and her diction never better. When we say stars like Bernadette sound great we mean it within the context of noticing aging and vocal decline. But Patti, and I don’t know why, has barely suffered any effects of aging in her voice. My only hope is she and producers don’t waste this opportunity and can give her some meaningful work. Maybe a full Broadway run of any show is always a risky proposition but Patti could easily sell a multiple night concert engagement with the right show.
Not on topic but that publicity shot of Patti as Evita that accompanies the article is just stunning.

I've thought the same thing. And certainly not to tear anyone else down, but Patti's voice is indeed still in incredible shape. Hugely impressive.

Absolutely. It's really quite remarkable how Patti seems stronger than ever.
Actually I've known people who've worked for lots of theater stars and they all say Patti is nowhere on the list of the most difficult people to work with/for. Not to say she isn't a diva or can't be difficult, but that there's way way worse.
There are many who would love a revival of Sunset. Since Miss Close did a limited run of Sunset, maybe Miss Patti would be willing to do a similar version. It would provide closure to a painful episode of her life. I mean, if she and ALW can achieve a theatrical version of detente, then perhaps we can see Miss LuPone as Norma Desmond on Broadway? It's plausible, I think.
