Happy trails to Darren Criss and Claire Kwon at MAYBE HAPPY ENDING. Expect their numbers to plummet immediately.
Tom Felton was on vacation this week from POTTER, hence their major drop.

Literally had zero idea that Celebrity Autobiography was running already until I read through this grosses report. Clearly nobody else seems to know that, either.

Celebrity Autobiography seems like it could get abridged.

Assuming it's not a misprint, is the average ticket price for Celebrity Autobiography of $15.22 a new record low?
Can someone remind me -- do comps get included in both the average ticket price calculation and the % of capacity?

The Blonde in the Thunderbird, which ran for three weeks in summer 2005, had an average ticket price of $11.02 in its second week.

It has to be. They're essentially just giving out comps to get people in the theater.

Honestly, I think going in they knew this was just a place filler and not meant to blow up the box office. They also only announced it like two weeks ago and the theatre was just assembled with the marquee and such on Monday. I assume each cast member is taking a small amount of money per performance to just goof around.
Meanwhile, BEACHES can’t even GIVE tickets away. I haven’t seen comped Broadway tickets left on the table with this degree of frequency since BAD CINDERELLA

It's a really weird thing. It was only announced two weeks ago and there's barely been any kind of major marketing or press push. People genuinely do not seem to realize it's even happening.

Beaches averaged 717 people per performance. The balance between evening and matinee shows likely means the weeknight shows had roughly 400 in attendance.

Huge drop. I wonder what he is getting paid as this drop shows that he is the reason a majority of people have been seeing the show.

Same. Wow $15 average ticket price! I’m guessing a lot of people got comps.

Where did this Celebrity Autobiography thing even come from?? I remarked to a friend of mine in the press that I had never heard of it until the other day (which was opening night?). And they remarked that they hadn't heard anything about it until they got their press invitation! Their RSVP was never responded to either. I mean...where is the advertising? Where is the effort? Where is the anything? There are some utterly fabulous people in the cast lineup, but maybe tell folks that they're in a show and what it's about?
This week is the spring road conference, so I imagine Beaches was just holding on for this week when those presenters were in town.
Elsewhere, pretty rough numbers for Six, & Juliet, Stranger Things. Gatsby and The Outsiders have both softened a lot. Just a blip, or are they entering into a freefall like Death Becomes Her that they wont be able to correct?
It's also concerning that Tony darlings like Schimgadoon, The Lost Boys, and The Jellicle Ball haven't really seen their grosses reliably skyrocket since nominations. Hopefully Tony performances will change things.

Forgot to mention... this week (ending 5/24) is the final week of the Broadway fiscal season, and a new total gross record is expected to be set once more. (Although it'll be a MUCH lesser jump than 2023-24 to 2024-25, which was a 22% increase.)
The way the numbers are trending at the moment, 2026-27 is on track to be a lower-grossing season, but A-list celebrities in some shows' casts can help ease some of the pain. The district is gonna need bigger names than the season about to conclude.

The iconic Home for the Holidays's average for their 2nd week was $13.51 in 2017. And their best ever week was $34.68...with a capacity of 22.83%...on the week of Christmas. Not as ignominious as Blonde & the Thunderbird, but one for the books nonetheless.

Noticing Chess hasn't recovered from its slide since March 22nd despite everyone in and the Tony nominations with capacity at 73% and box office under $1M. I've had a bit of a theory forming about that for a couple of weeks.
Chess hasn't been over 90% capacity or $1.3M since week ending 22nd March. they announced Lea was leaving 20th March.
A friend was telling me a few weeks ago they saw a couple of people on Facebook, very much regular person land, say it was sad Lea had left the show, not leaving in June, left.
Makes me think a lot of people saw the headline and missed the date and thought she'd left because it seems too much of a coincidence the real slide in capacity and box office started the week after the announcement of Lea leaving the show and its never recovered.

It's Netflix. I don't think they are too worried.

And quietly, Death of a Salesman has turned into a monster hit. I wonder if they will try to extend, or if that’s possible. How much money would the play need to make to recoup?
The other news looks kind of grim, at least for now. The nominated musicals got their bump last week but that’s it for now.
