i'd have to say Idina, i mean, shes the original, but i think that Kristy Gates little variations on it is also great. she really makes it her own.
I think the worst is Stephanie J. block, i just think she sounds wierd, especially when she's saying "and nobody, in all of oz..." i don't think shes BAD, i just think her voice sounds strange
Wow, I never knew how quickly one could become a cynic on this board... *erases all negative thoughts of bitter BWW veteran posters who head straight for the jugular on a post like this*
EDIT - Not directed at apdarcey, sorry. Just a general comment
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I love the way Jenna Leigh Green and Kristy Cates end the song. I also love Saycon's Defying Gravity. Shoshana's is awesome too, she makes the song her own.
Are we going off common bootlegs? Because I have a boot of steph...and I just saw her live..and WOW my mind changed.

Stephanie live and Idina on the recording are tied for me. I also like how Ana Gasteyer messes with the ending a bit sometimes.

I love Les Miserables.

Kristy Cates is the best. She's just fierce, powerful, and creates these riffs that would even blow your mother away.
Shoshana Bean is the worst. She NEEDS power. Her voice just isn't suited for the song. She's an awesome vocalist and she's the best riffer, but she's just not right for the song.
yeah, sometimes idina live can be kinda bad, but than sometimes she can sound REALLY good, is it the same with the rest of them or is there a performer who sings it amazingly every single time?
