I could see Jeanna de Waal being a great Svetlana and sounding amazing and if he wasn't busy with "Just in Time" I'd love Groff as Anatoly!

Best Broadway Love Song Feb 15 2025, 08:44:34 AM
My picks aren't really your traditional duets featuring characters in love but more, songs about the feeling of being/falling in love...
Simple Little things: 110 in the Shade
A Quiet Thing: Flora the Red Menace
What About Love: The Color Purple

DEATH BECOMES HER Reviews Jan 22 2025, 01:56:19 PM
They each seem to be missing quite a few performances. I'm seeing the show this weekend for the first time and really hoping they are both back. I'm a big Simard fan and find her comedic choices to be next level so I'll be pretty disappointed to miss her. However, it sounds like the understudies are doing a stellar job stepping in which is always great to hear.

Once Upon A Mattress...Sutton Foster Acrobatics! Dec 30 2024, 12:17:00 PM
The bed never made me nervous but the grapes did! Wondered if she ever got choking on one or all 20 she shoves in her mouth. I loved that moment tho. Very Carol Burnett. ❤️

GYPSY Previews Dec 9 2024, 12:32:23 AM
I’ve read a lot about how George C. Wolfe utilizes the preview period. We are creeping up on 3 weeks of previews. Can anyone say what exactly has been worked out this far? We know they haven’t really cut the run time down since the show/overture starts at about :02 minutes after the hour…so I guess I’m wondering how has GCW used the preview period so far…

Sure, I guess you could rationalize the overture this way. Personally, I wanted the house lights to dim and be washed over by those first horns of what we know is the greatest musical overture of all time and feel the excitement of an audience ready to see something great…sadly it all started abruptly while the house lights were up, people were talking, finding their seats, taking off their coats etc etc… it wasn’t unti the “ You&rs

GYPSY Previews - most important question Dec 3 2024, 06:14:42 PM
Curious...I saw 3rd preview and the deck was brown panels of "aged" overlay. Is that the design or was the actual painted deck not ready in time to be installed?

What a beautiful memorial. Showcasing not only Gavin's talents but more so the incredible human he was. His light shown beyond bright. Touching speeches from Sara Bareilles, one of his Professors/Mentor, 3 kids of actress Catherine Brunell, each with a story about Uncle Gavin and their annual "Yes" day where no matter what they wanted to do Uncle Gav said yes and they did it. His partner. Celia Keenan Bolger brought us all to tears talking about she and Gavin's journey

ONCE UPON A MATTRESS Reviews Dec 1 2024, 05:24:14 PM
Nikki's final show at OUAM was Monday Nov. 25th. I don't think Sutton slighted her. Sutton most likely just mentioned the people that performed and were on stage for the final show.

GYPSY Previews - most important question Nov 28 2024, 02:30:57 PM
I guess I picture the backward signs more literally. In my mind Rose leaves the dressing room and marches her way up to the roof of the theater for her meltdown/epiphany. Those signs are all pointed down on the streets. Her name will never appear on a sign like that. It’s not until the final moment of Rose’s turn when she’s completely delulu, that her big sign actually appears which is only in her mind, hence the bowing to an imaginary audience. Louise finds h

I think I would definitely prefer to see her U/S in this role. Feels like a part someone could really relish in. Like an Aurora in "Spider Woman".

2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Broadway Performance Predictions Nov 28 2024, 09:47:26 AM
Overall, I thought they were successful performances. DBH was a little lack-luster and I see what people mean about Michelle Williams not embodying the fun of that character. Fun having Hilty and Simard do the intro
They all felt big and high energy. I give major kudos to how hard they were all dancing considering the rain. I sat on my couch so stressed that someone was gonna bite it.
Regarding the live vocals...remember that they did 2 shows yesterday, probably ended thei

I’m in NY next week and have a slot left open, and my wife is very interested in seeing this before it vanishes, mostly out of morbid curiosity. “It’d be fun to see a bomb” vibes. Is it worth it? Is this worth seeing to say I was there and I saw this? Or is it too dull?"
I'd say skip it. If you have 1 slot left use it for something worthy

Yes and will be talking negatively about whatever subject they present. I'm certain that Patti loved being cast as Norma, loved the rehearsal process, loved the show on the West End until everything went akimbo and suddenly it is the worst show ever written!

Ask anyone associated with "Company" about the 2 and half days of "sensitivity training" post-covid and they will tell you that Patti LuPone did in fact consider herself the most "marginalized" of the company because she grew up being a "theater nerd"
