NYT says unspecified Shubert theatre, but the clues are adding up that's it's the Winter Garden.

It's also pretty obvious that Diego, James, Bella, and Aaron Lee Lambert will all be coming over from London.

Now the question is, how does Lloyd Webber four-peat for the revival of a musical Tony in 2028?

Is anyone forcing you to hear and or see the production?

Their loss...this is one of the best productions I've seen of any musical in over a decade.  Jamie gonna lead another start to a Tony award!  I'll definitely be at the first preview.

I do hope he's able to come up with an affecting coup de théâtre if the balcony seen is indeed cut.

I am curious what the capitalization is for this... SUNSET a couple of years ago cost $15 million with some similar design elements and a larger cast than this.

Zegler's name means a lot more than Scherzinger's, so unless it costs $35 million or something like that, I can't see this not recouping. This could easily do close to $3 million weeks on the reg.

Sunset also arguably shot itself in the foot with its limited run scheduling, which left it vulnerable in the winter doldrums and then saw it close just weeks after its Tony wins made it a hot ticket. A spring opening for Evita should position it much better.

Nope, as already discussed in the other Evita thread. Everything will be done inside as having anything outside is too expensive regarding insurance.

Im glad they got Rachel to sign for a year, the show looks much more exciting than his previous works.

When people compare Jamie Lloyd Sunset and Evita they tend to do it on superficial ways. Eg yes Rachel holds a note in Rainbow High a little longer and there are attractive men in underwear. However, the productions couldn’t be more different in terms of tone. Evita felt like a high energy stadium pop concert in tone. Sunset was more like a a strange abstract emotional dream world. I would be truly surprised if people walked out of both productions feeling the same kind of emotions even if they both have in common minimal staging, a focus on visual aesthetics of cast etc.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

If it’s even half as exciting as Sunset Blvd. was, I’m there. And, by most accounts, it’s even better. Jamie Lloyd’s current box of tricks might not be to everyone’s liking, but his direction of Sunset was exciting enough that I’ll see anything he does from here on out (Godot aside, I don’t care for the play or either of the actors it was built around).

Maybe Rachel can follow even more in Nicole's footsteps and sing the In Memoriam at this year's Tonys.

Word to the wise, though: steer clear of seemingly controversial hats. ;)

No more than anyone is forced you to comment on whether or not someone is forcing the OP to attend, a predictable response that does nothing to advance the conversation, nor does mine.
