Ok, another random thought (sorry) on this lovely Mother's Day in ATL (not hot). Looking at "kid-friendly" shows advertised out there, it lists most musicals except for Chess. I think a lot of the drop off in grosses since March and it hitting the actual "ceiling" are due the adult and R-rated theme of the show. Essentially, it's not a family show like Funny Girl was. I actually like Chess more than FG. Would watch Chess multiple times, but once enough for FG.

Just saw this tonight and had a blast! Set, atmosphere, and vibes were all top notch. It would've been perfect for me if they had a couple cast changes (cough, cough, Harvey & Juliet, cough, cough). Stephanie surprised me with her vocals. Of course, Luke was the highlight. I forget that the songs are soooo catchy. Great audience, perfect amount of call backs, and overall fantastic production.

Also, sorry to report that Casey isn't listed in the Chess playbill anymore and seems that he has wiped his IG account. I truly hope he recovers not only soon, but fully healthy to continue living his dream on Broadway.

All true and good points. That's why it was a wild and stupid thought. (Although, I believe Ever was a "surprise" after giving up almost try to conceive naturally).
Anyway, back to the show, I wish I could see this again before Lea leaves in June. But, who knows...might be still around in the Fall when I come back to NYC.

Saw this a second time yesterday and had the best time! Brought a friend with me and she loved it. I saw this first in previews and the difference was astounding to me.
First, the sound design was infinitely much better and I could understand most of the lyrics in the group numbers. They also amped up the lead vocals' mics so they didn't get drowned out by the orchestra.
Second and, obviously, 6 months after previews the whole cast was much cleaner in

I think the vocal BWW participants on here are generally tired of Gypsy discussion because of the last Broadway production. Right after Funny Girl and before Audra Gypsy, there were similar numerous comments on here that Lea should be the next Gypsy in 10-15 years. It'll become popular again in a couple years.
