Who wins this year? I almost feel like it could be anyone. All five ladies have received abnormally wonderful press for their performances.

So, Sutton, Patti, Kelli, Chita, or LaChanze?

(anyone else notice how they all have two syllables in their first names?)

I think LaChanze is wonderful and would love for her to receive the award. But if it goes to Patti you won't hear any arguments from me.

I would loooove to see Patti get the award. However, Sutton was amazing as well, but her part just wasn't as large.

Everyone is pushing for Patti and predicting a win for her, which I could see happen.
However, I want LaChanze to win so badly

LaChanze all the way. I love Patti and the others, but the roll and her performance put LaChanze above the others here.

For me, it's definitley between Patti and LaChanze, but I have to give my vote to Patti.

Yes, Patti was great, but I would really love LaChanze to take this award - her performance in TCP was a theatrical treat for me, I thought she was stunning.

I'm hoping Patti gets the award, but if LaChanze wins, I won't be upset, because she is due for a Tony.

The others are great but for me it is Patti and only Patti that would satisfy.

I'm hoping for Patti as well.

I thought that Sutton was wonderful too, but I just don't think that her part was truly a leading role.

No more Sutton. Really and truly. I love her, I do, I think she's fantastic but she already won for Millie and she had a nomination last year for Little Women and now this year, and although I don't think it's bad for someone to be as sucessful as Sutton is....give it to LaChanze. She's overdue anyway AND I mean just listening to the CD of The Color Purple you can just feel LaChanze's emotions. I love that about her. Plus her character compared to Sutton's is just....well I think LaChanze really surpassed this time.

HOWEVER if Patti wins...no complaints.

But LaChanze has to win.

My vote is definitely for Patti. She is amazing!

*And by the way, I don't understand the whole "[insert name here] is due for the Tony, so we should give it to her." Whatever happened to giving it to the person who deserves it!

I would give it to Patti cause she was right on the money, and I love LaChanze but I thought her material was weaker.
Kelli's Babe is not an award winner in my opinion, I do think she should have won last year.
Sutton is also great, but in the wrong category.
And I never count out Cheets!
I'm callin' Patti but LaChanze winning is fine with me.

For me, it's all about Patti this year - although I thought LaChanze was pretty incredible. I really, really hope Patti takes it, though!
