I just saw this evening's preview performance and echo a lot of the sentiments above. I saw the first act this evening. I actually didn't particularly dislike the show, it just very much wasn't my style. About 20 other theatergoers I passed on the street on the way out felt similarly from what I overhead. I can certainly see how and why this appeals to people, and the show has clearly found its audience. Just wanted to add a different perspective amidst all the buzz.

Chiming in here to say that, while not perfect, this is far from the worst new musical to make it to Broadway this season. With the right cuts to get it down to the advertised runtime, this has the potential to be a really great and moving show. That great show is in there, it's just a matter of making the right cuts.
