Farewell and Kudos to Lynne Meadow

MTC has consistently offered really professional and smart pieces, so thanks Lynn! Now we just need to get Ruined to Broadway.

One hell of a career!  So many great playwrights she helped launch.

I wonder who will be her replacement, Anna D. Shapiro?

MTC had some years of stuffy offerings, but she has really evolved with the times and helped broaden their audience. That is commendable. Not to mention growing it from such humble beginnings.

It’s a huge job, and not an ideal fit for someone who wants to focus on being a director. The people who’ve had good track records running other off-Broadway and top-tier regional nonprofits are almost all viable contenders.

I wonder if Diane Paulus was ever in the mix for running Roundabout, LCT, or 2nd Stage, or if running a Broadway nonprofit just isn’t of interest?

As with all the other Broadway nonprofits in transition, there is no internal heir apparent (Nicki Hunter, Lynne’s associate, being the closest thing to one, and former staffers like Paige Evans and Mandy Greenfield).

I am so glad that Lynne did not accept that offer to work at the Zabar's cheese department. I have enjoyed going to MTC for so long and appreciate all that she has done. My all-time favorite of course is Doubt. Looking forward to attending the shows that she directs.

Have seen everyone of these and would concur with each one.

My list would also include:

Cost of Living

Skeleton Crew

How I Learned To Drive (2022)

The Height of the Storm

Heisenberg

The Other Place

Venus in Fur

Just to name a few. It's a pretty damn impressive list of great theater when you stop and think about it. Kudos to her for a job very well done.
