Thanks for linking the video! I saw it in Chicago and am anxious to hear about any changes. I really hope they at least smoothed out the ending as to me it fell a little flat. They really seem to be balancing the line between trying to make their protagonist somewhat redeemable and acknowledging that however funny his actions were, they were wrong and hurt people. Also curious about Sarah Stiles’ characters ending (spoiler from Chicago version below)

Because to me I thought her suddenly getting confidence from sleeping with the roommate character and then losing it in 2 seconds just to make one last joke didn’t work. I feel like she should see how Michael succeeded at a role he was obviously not qualified for and actually leave with some convection to try again. I’m just so done with the “suddenly got confidence when a man revealed he liked me” trope.
Basically, no one said making a 2019 version of Tootsie would be easy, but I think they’re trying their best.
