In this case, that's not true at all. The biggest reason is that the landlords ARE the producers and shape where the show's capital goes. Beyond that, they are also the people who determine all the rules governing Broadway (The Theatre Wing and the Broadway League) - it's all the same people. It runs so much deeper and worse than that but they are always negotiating with themselves. The people who get hurt are basically: everyone else.

Caught it tonight and it was FABULOUS. It captured everything that makes the series such a phenomenon, while adding some laugh-crying-emoji level humor. It feels written by someone who so clearly adores this show and is paying it homage, leaving us to laugh with (not at) the characters and situations. All the choices made to cut 40 characters, 30 locations, and 12 years down to 75 tight minutes were incredibly smart - we are left with something joyous as evidenced by the entire audience's hug...

I loved Orch Center L for this production. The rise of the audience seats is steep enough that it felt like they were playing directly to us. Some of the best seats I've ever had.

Saw her in Carousel ( back when she was Audra Ann McDonald) as well as in Ragtime, and she was absolutely as wonderful in person. I, for one, have no idea what your friend meant.

It was updated in all ways - there was a record player used onstage, the language included "booze" and "bucks" (instead of money/cash).

The audition notice seemed to indicate that this could extend to max 4/28, so my guess we get 2 more weeks after reviews come out (3/19 now).
