Where would you guys reccomend I stay in NY? I am going to be in town (as a tourist!) for four days and was wondering if you know any good deals on hotels, etc. Everything I've seen so far seem to be very expensive, sans the hostels but I wanted to try to avoid them if at all possible. Any suggestions for decently priced places near the decent spots in the city?

Very funny, Lizzie.
I am also going to NYC for 3 nights and want to spend as little as possible. Definitely in the hundrends.
This time I wasn't trying to be funny! I stayed there and enjoyed it.
Uh, the prices! I'm possibly seeing 6 shows within 3 nights and I won't have much money to spend on a nice hotel. First I have to convince my mom to see 6 shows.
My parents stay at the Hampton Inn at the Seaport. We love it there ~ I join them for breakfast. It's not crazy expensive. Especially if you've got AAA, AARP or Hilton Honors discounts.

Has anyone been to The Belleclaire?

I've stayed at The Belleclaire and really enjoyed it. There were 4 of us and we had a room with 2 double beds. The room was clean and didn't feel cramped with the 4 of us in there. I thought room service was great. It's within walking distance to some great places to eat and a few markets (it's right above one and Zabar's is only 2 or 3 blocks away). Hope that helps, if not I can go into more detail, just PM me.

absolutely love marriotts residence inn times square. Stayed there last january during restaurant week with 7 friends. Believe it or not got room for $165...Has free hot breakfast included. Each room has fridge, sink microwave. Even if you pay a little more than other places, you can bring in your own water, snax, food, and most importantly...booze
I will definitely be going back again next year

I stayed at The Travel Inn on 42nd Street last October, it was a good location not far from the Times Square/Theater District with lots of restaurants nearby. It's not the nicest hotel but the rates weren't bad compared to everything in the TS area.
