Who here is going to the South Eastern Theatre Conference next month? Guest Speakers are:

Dixie Carter
Sharon Lawrence
Samm-Art Williams
Daniel Banks
Pattie D'Beck
Nino Racco

We should all meet at the Food Court in the mall one day!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Oh gosh!!! I almost was going to be there, but I received an internship with the Flying Fig Theatre Company so I can't make it this time around. But a couple of my friends are gonna be there auditioning their hearts out.

I know this has nothing to do with it really, but Dixie Carter is one of the sweetest women I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I just felt the need to share.

If you get the chance to meet/talk to her, definitely dont pass it up. She's a doll re: SETC @ Greensboro, NC March 2-6, 2005

bump

Just as an FYI:

The convention center where all/most of the activies/auditions/etc will be held is right across the parking lot from a major mall (they share the parking lot).

Inside the mall is a decent food court which includes Chick-fil-A, Subway, etc. in addition to the regular stores.

If you are a high school student, or college student looking to transfer, local colleges no more than 15 mins away include:

UNCG
Greensboro College
Guilford College

If you have any other questions about the area, let me know.
