Posted: 3/29/10 at 4:15pmI just got an e-mail from Telecharge saying the show is closing this Sunday. I have not seen any other official word, but figured I would post the news.

Posted: 3/29/10 at 4:18pmThat's a shame. I really wanted to see this. I couldn't get good seats, though (I like to sit in the front). Oh, well. I hope Dame Edna comes back to Broadway soon with a solo show.

Posted: 3/29/10 at 4:20pmYou couldn't get good seats?? They're averaging 40%, I can't imagine why you couldn't get what anyone would perceive as "good" seats.

Telecharge isn't selling them past Sunday. It looks official!! Stephen Sondheim may be getting his theatre sooner than expected!!!

Wouldn't want to be Haimes right now. If replacing LIPS TOGTHER wasn't enough, now he loses income from the Miller tenant. SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM better be a hit.
And too bad this show wasn't better. I actually think it was a bizarre and brilliant idea, a show for the two of them. But maybe it was just a better idea than it was a show...

Posted: 3/29/10 at 5:40pmHow hard/easy is the rush for this? I'd like to catch it before it closes.

Posted: 3/29/10 at 5:47pmI walked up to the box office and got a ticket about an hour before the show one Wednesday. I get the impression that you would easily be able to do the same.

Posted: 3/29/10 at 5:53pmIt's too bad, but the show just didn't work, either in concept or execution.

Posted: 3/29/10 at 6:59pmI'm hoping to see this on the Saturday evening show and was intending to try student rush. Do you think that it'll be sold out as it's the penultimate performance?

It is impossible that you could not get good seats. I bought three tickets late on the evening of March 25th, for the March 27th show. We got center 4th row from the stage. There were 2 empty seats in the front row as well.
If you really want to see it you should try. It is an adorable little show and you will laugh out loud!! Good luck.

Posted: 3/30/10 at 12:27pmI tried online last week to get two seats for last Saturday's matinee performance and the best I could get was Row M. I can't really see the stage unless I'm in the first five rows or so. Maybe I would have had more luck had I gone directly to the box office.

Posted: 3/30/10 at 12:58pmAnything before row M is probably marked off as premium tickets. If you go to the box office right before the show, those tickets will likely be released and you'll be able to buy them at the regular price.

Posted: 3/31/10 at 9:24pmI saw the show this past Sunday. I thought Dame Edna was great (very funny) (as good as I last saw her/him 5 years ago). I was not entertained by Michael Feinstein (but I don't like that type of music) but my mother (who attended with me) liked him (and Dame Edna too). I was sitting in the second row center and I looked around and did not see an empty seat anywhere. The audience was laughing throughout Dame Edna's antics including her interplay with several audience members and there was a rousing ovation by the audience at the end.

I just got tickets for this Saturday's matinee! I was so disappointed that I'd be missing this show since I was supposed to go to Boston this weekend, but there's trouble with Amtrak due to flooding in Rhode Island and I had to cancel my trip. I consider this fate that I can now go so Dame Edna!
I even got great seats. Fifth row in the orchestra. Not too shabby. I can't wait!
