"That would make things line up perfect! If Norma dies at the end of this season, or early next, as artstallion said, Vera can still be on the show as Norman/Norma, or as his hallucination. Then Marion can pull up in her old 60s car (sort of like Normas) which I am told is famous. She can interact with Norman and even "Mother"! Then the shower, and even her sister and bf!
Am I Norman crazy or doesnt that sound AWESOME???
Well, I do like the idea of the series ending with Marion pulling up to the motel. The rest, as they say,.......
I brought that up a while back in this thread when they first announced there were to be two new seasons. It is an interesting concept however enough for a 10-12 episode season? There would have to be quite a few new characters introduced. Having Norma show up only as Norman's alter ego would grow old after 3-4 episodes.
eta. It wasn't this thread I suggested it but in the original thread on BATES MOTEL.

" Youre right, they would have to get creative, but If they did it half way thru, i think it could work! I bet it would get crazy publicity too!
It would be way cool if they could have Norman kill her off and us the audience not know it until the end! Kind of like The Sixth Sense or the first American Horror Story.

Me too. This doesn't have to connect to the movie at all, and I don't think it should. It's its own thing. The season this far has been brilliant.
I actually hope they tell the PSYCHO story eventually. Would be great to see with this cast.
They only one who would be around from this cast to do the original movie would be Norman. Well, maybe Norma in some form.
Doesn't mean Emma, Romero, and Dylan couldn't pop in. Would be interesting set the story in modern times. Plus the Bates Motel universe is a little quirkier than that of the original film.
In the Psycho Universe, Norman kills both his mother and her lover. That is if we are to follow the original story. We never really got a glimpse of the Bates Motel Universe in the movie. We were introduced to Norman who, at first, seemed like a nice quiet guy.
We will see. My hope is that with a whole season yet to go they won't run it into the ground by overstaying their welcome.
The Sheriff is going to have no patience for Norman.....
And did I see the beginning of Norman's peeping through the hole habit???
Norman will have less patience for the sheriff.
This episode seemed like the calm before storm. for some reason though, watching Norma at the sewing machine with her curtains just crack me up!
Are there 10 episodes this season? Or eight?
10 episodes. so we have 3 left!
yeah, $10 says the Sheriff is toast by the season finale. This was definitely a set-up episode to close out the season & we'll eventually also find out that Norman killed Emma's mother.
The Sheriff's death will be the season's cliff hanger.
I don't think they will kill off the Sheriff. I think if he plants those trees he will find some remnant of Emma's mother. He will ask Norma to chose between he and Norman and she will pick Norman.
I'm so impressed by Freddie Highmore's acting skills. He can cry at a moment's notice, and the transition into crying is so smooth and natural. He's mesmerized me from the first episode of the series.
Has anyone seen Special Correspondants?
It is on Netflix and written by Ricky Gervais who invented The Office. Looks Funny!

I go with the sheriff getting the Norman Bates special.
I thought Norman was going to black out while chopping wood and turn into his mother.
Didn't think he'd kill the sheriff then. But I still say the sheriff is toast by the season finale & we see Norman go full out crazy on the season finale, too.
When Alex's old girlfriend was trying to get away, and at the airport they detained her, I thought I heard the cop saying something to the effect that she (the girlfriend) shouldn't take the rap for Alex with the money laundering. Am I right? If so, then they must be after Alex's ass now.
