I got an email informing me that this sale, 3 for $35 has been extended but they don't say til when. I am guessing for at least another 24 hours.
There are a few recent MOD releases I wanted to get from Warner Archives, unfortunately none of them are included in this sale. Guess I'll have to wait until the holidays and check again.

I was hoping this would be closer to Black Friday. I hope the sale goes on for a while. If anyone knows how long it goes for, please be sure to post.

Here's a rave review for the restoration Blu-ray of Lawrence of Arabia that's being released tomorrow from a reviewer on a site that I've come to trust.
Sony did an outstanding job with the re-mastering of Lawrence of Arabia. It was created by doing an 8k scan/4k intermediate of the negative to generate a new master which appears to have beautifully preserved the high resolution elements contained within. Looking at the results it is readily apparent that a lot of care went into the restoration. Grain is intact across the board and I saw no sign of digital noise reduction or image degrading manipulation. This is a flawless and film like video presentation that delivers exquisite high level detail and rich, deep, image penetrating colors that look gorgeous in high definition. The video has incredible depth and dimension that is rarely limited by the camera’s perspective. The level of resolution present produces imagery that in many cases has a near infinite visual acuity that draws out the finest details in close ups while enhancing the delineation and textural nuance within objects and backgrounds. Wide angle shots of expansive building interiors and exterior compounds reveal the varied smooth and rough texture in the surfaces made of stone and wood while the beautifully framed panaramas of the desert landscapes look stunning.
An epic masterpiece as you’ve never seen it before!
The Lawrence of Arabia BD is one of the last I worked on with Sony still to be released. We started it roughly 4 years ago, before the actual Blu-ray format had even debuted.
I was invited over with my colleagues to sit with our Sony clients and see what they were doing with this master. It was incredible. I saw it projected via a $60K system (I want one!!!) onto a 25-foot wide wall.
The detail was perfect, and the image flawless.
So glad it's finally being released to consumers! I know Sony was waiting for just the right time because it really is a special title.
