The recent London stage production of The Rocky Horror Show has set an American screening date for Oct. 18 at midnight on BBC America to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the show's cult film version.

Fascinating! I'll surely watch.
As someone who attended countless midnight screenings of the film, but has never seen the stage show, this is great news! Thanks for the heads-up!

Awesome! I set it up to record. I wonder if this will be released on DVD as well, and if so, will this affect Fox's planned live TV remake.
Nice!
Sweet -- thanks for the heads up! Just set it to record. ![]()
Anyone know who will be in the cast? I'm assuming it will be the same cast as the recent live broadcast event in the UK, so David Bedella as Frank?
I don't get BBC America. I hope there's a DVD!

Creature Kitchen, I just assumed they'd be showing the same broadcast they showed in cinemas.

Anyone watching? I kind of prefer the stage show smaller and less bombastic, but this is really a lot of fun. Janet looks uncannily like Shelley Long.

Why is David Bedella so well liked? I really don't get why he's played Frank so many times, he comes off like a poor man's Tim Curry without the charm. Give me Tom Hewitt, Terrence Mann or hell even Rob Morton the European tour years ago any day because David Bedella is boring.
Maybe I'm too tainted by the 2001 revival because honestly nothing can beat that to me.

This has been a blast, and I rather enjoy David Bedell as Frank. The whole cast has been very enjoyable. I will be happy to revisit this several more times.
Did anyone record this by any chance?

I DVRed it too to make the editing process easier.
BBCAM has it on demand for free if you missed it last night. If you've only seen the movie this is slightly diff but these performances and cast/ensemble are spot on!

It is available on BBC America On Demand. Watching now. And yes it is re airing the 25th at 11 pm.
I'm watching it now. They're doing a great job, it's very entertaining. I could listen to Bedella and stare at his smile all night! And I think he's got the attitude down pat.
Not wild about their Magenta and Columbia. Love Riff Raff. Rocky and Eddie, ok.
Rushed and over-played, and quite frankly a little tired. This particular production has toured the UK for years (if not always with this particular production design), and while it's clearly a perennial favorite, it also shows how easily one can slip into cookie-cutter.
At this point, bringing back the original aesthetic of a derelict cinema and an usherette's B-movie fantasy would almost be a more intriguing revival than any of these souped-up live renditions of the film. It might even become popular again.
yowza, how many teeth does that guy have? ![]()
