Nice!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

CreatureKitchen said: "Anyone know who will be in the cast? I'm assuming it will be the same cast as the recent live broadcast event in the UK, so David Bedella as Frank?

"

It will be the same show that was cinecast.

Why is David Bedella so well liked? I really don't get why he's played Frank so many times, he comes off like a poor man's Tim Curry without the charm. Give me Tom Hewitt, Terrence Mann or hell even Rob Morton the European tour years ago any day because David Bedella is boring.

Maybe I'm too tainted by the 2001 revival because honestly nothing can beat that to me.

BBCAM has it on demand for free if you missed it last night. If you've only seen the movie this is slightly diff but these performances and cast/ensemble are spot on!

I'm watching it now. They're doing a great job, it's very entertaining. I could listen to Bedella and stare at his smile all night! And I think he's got the attitude down pat.

Not wild about their Magenta and Columbia. Love Riff Raff. Rocky and Eddie, ok.

Rushed and over-played, and quite frankly a little tired. This particular production has toured the UK for years (if not always with this particular production design), and while it's clearly a perennial favorite, it also shows how easily one can slip into cookie-cutter.

At this point, bringing back the original aesthetic of a derelict cinema and an usherette's B-movie fantasy would almost be a more intriguing revival than any of these souped-up live renditions of the film. It might even become popular again.
