The comnercials were recycled from the Spring with some pull quote graphics thrown in. When I saw that I knew it was near the end. I had really high hopes for this having seen the West End production. It was disappointing on so many levels and I'm a huge Christian Borle and Jackie Hoffman fan. My favorite memory of this show will be seeing Jack O'Brien in Sardi's DURING the opening night performance. Word of mouth was already bad.

The producers were envisaging a run of at least 5 years.

Posted: 11/15/17 at 3:22pmI saw this and it didn't really have a target audience, the set felt quite barren, and I didn't enjoy anything besides Christian Borle. This didn't have a place on Broadway, it would've been better as a tour or on the west end.

I really enjoyed the show and was a huge fan - but it's understandable why it closed. It's a kids show, and for tickets about the same price, Aladdin is more appealing to a lot of people simply because it is Disney. I preferred this to Aladdin tbh. The show itself had a lot of potential, but ended up being pretty lackluster if you were grading it just based off of writing, score, and script. I'm very sad to see it go since it is my second favorite show I've seen aside from GHD. I'm hoping to win the lottery again, or maybe I'll try and snag tickets for the final performance

Prom doesn’t even start for another year so they certainly won’t be going to the Lunt. Donna Summer seems far more realistic since it’s aiming for this season.

I completely agree. I was disappointed when I saw Charlie simply because I thought the actors could be in a much better show. I'm hoping Christian does something that is not targeted at children this time around. He really is great.

It's always interesting to me how people will purchase tickets to something based on name alone, hence this show's crazy advance. In my opinion, while still a flawed piece, Amelie was even a better show and it didn't even play 1/3 of the performances than this slap-in-the-face did.
Even so, I hope the cast/crew can soon find work that is more worthy of their talent!

So, my friend coming to visit got very excited and entered all of the Broadway lotteries. She won CATCF so I guess we are going. I am almost dreading it based on what I’ve heard from you guys. Maybe we will have a few cocktails beforehand.
Has anyone won the lottery - were the seats decent at least?

Just checked my ticket, row Q seat 18, could see everything perfectly though. Overall I didn't hate it as much as others but like most I was disappointed in the sets and that aspect definitely brings the show down to me because it really makes you think what if they did it this way or that way. I am glad I only paid the lotto price though.

Posted: 12/9/17 at 12:13amOur seats were pretty bad, way back of the mezz. It was far. And the tourists in front of us didn’t take off their winter hats with huge fluffy balls sticking up on top. I’m starting to think talking through shows is the new norm and I can’t expect anyone to be quiet for 2 hours anymore. The show wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, but it was not good. Not unwatchable, but not Broadway-worthy at all.
