Goodbye! So, what’s next for the Lunt-Fontanne?
HAH! Boy. I hope this gives producers more of an incentive to produce more original work.

Can you say MASSIVE FLOP? So sad given the incredible source material.
Pretty woman? Have they announced a theatre? Didn’t they say they were hoping for a Nederlander? Though, they wouldn’t be able to transfer until at least the summer.
It must have no advance after New Year's. Maybe Dreamgirls?

Really??? PRETTY WOMAN?! OMG!
Home for the Holidays will be transferring to the Lunt-Fontanne after Charlie's closing.
Can you say MASSIVE FLOP?
Was it, though? Short run, but I don't know what it's weekly nut was. Grosses were pretty solid until mid-September. Obviously, it won't recoup, but how expensive was it to run?

You think? I would imagine they would want to let Casey catch a break after he’s done rehearsing Mean Girls.

I believe Pretty Woman is already scheduled to go elsewhere.

We will never know for sure, but I doubt they recouped much at all.
The producers declined to discuss their finances — while most Broadway shows file investment documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission, this production is exempt because it has not solicited investors. Comparable Broadway musicals often cost between $15 million and $20 million to mount.

Who's "they?" I imagine Casey and his bank account would like as many shows running as possible.

I was sort of afraid this would happen. I guess people weren't big fans of this new Charlie

Speaking of "Pretty Woman" - let's let Emily Padgett play Vivian, now that she's free.
This whole thing was just an utter travesty. This property deserved the most joyous, glorious production of all time, and this was what they gave us?
Good riddance. On to the next one.
I did not enjoy the West End version - but it lasted four years. I guess it really does cost a lot more money to run on Broadway than in the West End. (I did not see this revised Broadway version)

I think Casey would more like to focus on Mean Girls at this point before turning his attention back to Dreamgirls.
I am sure the Neaderlander's are now kicking themselves for not holding the theater for Frozen at this point.
If I had to bet at this point, The Cher Show, might switch theaters, otherwise I see a series of limited runs, until "critic proof" spectacle musical ie maybe Bombshell or Beatlejuice might push up their timelines.
Donna Summer musical?
The Honeymooners?
Hadestown? (probably too big)
or will it stay dark til next fall?
Do we really think "Bombshell" is going to actually happen? I know Meron and Zaden have announced it but they have over the years announced so many projects for the stage and screen that have never come to fruition.

HONEYMOONERS seems a likely candidate. Perhaps AIN’T TOO PROUD may consider a spring opening now that the Lunt is available? Or have they already secured another tryout?

I would be very surprised if the theatre owners have not inked a deal for another production for the spring. Unless they plan to do some kind of renovation, it wouldn't make sense for the theatre to sit dark for so long.
The Donna Summer musical feels like it could be a viable candidate. This feels like a really big venue for Hadestown or The Honeymooners.

i guess their new really horrible commercial didn't sell one ticket. Running costs were probably close to $800,000 a week....
I understand that I am in the minority, but I thoroughly enjoyed this and to hear that is closing is very upsetting to me.

The comnercials were recycled from the Spring with some pull quote graphics thrown in. When I saw that I knew it was near the end. I had really high hopes for this having seen the West End production. It was disappointing on so many levels and I'm a huge Christian Borle and Jackie Hoffman fan. My favorite memory of this show will be seeing Jack O'Brien in Sardi's DURING the opening night performance. Word of mouth was already bad.
