^^^^^ It's actually "Mazel Tov" wich literally means "good fortune" in Hebrew
Speaking of lyrics, in "Legally Blonde Remix" Vivienne sings "...take a good look at my face, I'm not a fool and as rule I do not ________". I've read everything from "pose", "bite", and "bond" according to the MTV airing. Anyone know the correct lyric?
I would trust the lyric booklet over the lyric websites and say that it's probably "bond".

Yes, it is "bond." The chorus's lyrics follow up with hers right afterwards. ("Never known her to bond")
ETA: It would have to be "bond," also, to rhyme with the next stanza's "blonde."

It makes me laugh that everyones sees the lyrics and sees bad, i see the opposite.
Lyrics in songs from musicals are supposed to represent that characters voice and the words, expressions, quirks of that particular person.
This is Legally Blonde The Musical.
The lyrics perfectly represent the characters, if anything the writers have captured the essence of these characters perfectly.
Have you watched the film, listened to how they speak?, have you read the book?
The musical is a perfect representation of these people and their sittuations and scenarios.
How did you expect the lyrics to go to a musical of Legally Blonde?
Just because they seem weak to you does not mean they are, good lyrics are lyrics which give a person a voice and personality and right from OhMiGod they do.
Thats why people liked the opening song so much, it was a perfect introduction to those girls in this world of Legally Blonde.
I really thought people who were in to musicals would get that?
Just to clarify the original poster, the last part of the OMIGOD reprise goes
Elle's all that and a side of fries!
She saw right through Chutneys frizzy perm and her fake aliby!
And I think someone said something about the curtain call lyrics. And they are. . .
We've had our fun!
Our work here is done!
We're setting you free! (?)
So go home and be
Yeah go home and be
Yeah go home and be
Yeah go home and be

You could be right, wicked 91.
But the CC said "We're shining and free" (?!?!). Maybe it really is hard to "bargle nawdle zouss" with everyone applauding like crazy.
Random but LB is on MTV right now...was this announced anywhere?
I don't think anyone (and rightly so) cares about anything other than the strike right now.
Well said, songanddanceman! I couldn't agree more. Of course there are a few clunkers here and there, as with any musical, but on the whole, the lyrics really are just right for the characters and the material.
"Lyrics in songs from musicals are supposed to represent that characters voice and the words, expressions, quirks of that particular person."
Well, I was wondering if it was aired because of the strike which is why I questioned if it was announced. I could see MTV airing it assuming ratings would be higher since people can't actually see it live right now.
Yeah, LOL, I was wondering about that. Like how weird it will be at the parade next week (assuming the strike is still on) for the announcers to be like, "Here's another show you can't buy tickets for."
GRR.
Yeah, as sad as the strike is, I laughed a little at "The HIlls" girls talk ingabout how to buy tickets for LB forty times...when you essentially can't see it right now.
I laugh at the The Hills girls just because... :)
Seriously, though- I don't think I knew that the Thanksgiving Day airing of LB was going to be a "special sing-along version," that's interesting.

For a long time I thought the lyrics in "Omigod" were
"Can't look like a desperate whore
Like I'm waiting for it..."
ad opposed to "like I'm desperate or..."
Proposal eyes? Really? I have always thought it was "propasalized".
And "And it's a rule, I do not BOND"?
I have ALWAYS thought it was unquestionably "bite.".

Haha! I thought the same thing at first when the rehearsal vid on broadway.com showed up! And it makes sense...she doesn't wanna look like a desperate whore or like she's waiting for "it", if you know what I mean haha
But SongandDance, isn't it also a lyricist's job to make the lyrics understandable? That there's a thread where almost every poster contributes with a lyric they didn't understand has to mean something. No one is expecting Sondheim, but at the very least, we should be able to understand what the characters are saying. Isn't *that* one of the points of musicals? I like Larry's other work, but this is not his best.
Does anyone have DVD of the MTV screening? i just saw the show tonight in cleveland, it's the third time i've seen it live (the cast was really good for the most part but i there were some changes in the tour i still have to get used too) anyways... i really want to show my friends the MTV braodcast since they didn't get to see it but i don't have it... so if you have can you PM me?
