Actually, I was hoping she (Sutton) would perform (I think she's fantastic - saw her both in Millie and Little Woman), but didn't think she would/could since her show isn't nominated.

I assume Christina Applegate will perform (quite a year for her!)since her show is nominated?

So I assume performing should be -

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
The Light in the Piazza
Spamalot
Spelling Bee
La Cage
Sweet Charity
NOT Pacific Overtures since it closed?

I also believe that shows that perform from a touring group are those that are ultimately planning to stop in NY for a run. Busker Alley, Bye Bye Birdie, Showboat were all shows slated to come into NY eventually at the time of the broadcast. Certainly not a rule, but just my thought on the subject.

There is almost no chance of Sutton performing. They have a full slate of nominated musicals for Best New Musical and three revivals. I highly doubt even Pacific Overtures will perform. The only reason a show like Parade (tidbit: was Side Show also shuttered when Ripley/Skinner performed on the Tonys) is that there were very few shows new and open to perform.
When Jane Eyre was threatening to close pre-Tonys, the committee told them they wouldn't get to perform if they weren't open.

There's not mention of Bee's number or even that they haven't decided on a number...

Why not 'Fable' from LIGHT? Ah, well.

Well I would have gone with "Fable" from Piazza, but at least the opening number from Piazza isnt THAT boring! The Chairty medly should be fun, Dirty Rotten doing great big stuff is WONDERFUL & will be a highlight, Surprised that Spelling Bee is doing more than just their opening number...

If LA CAGE screws up and doesnt showcase the dancing queens I WILL BE FUMING...The portion of the Title Number they did on the TODAY show plus some Goulet or Beach doing I AM WHAT I AM would be acceptable...NO LESS!

Doing Fable is a big mistake. Statues and Stories is the wisest choice in my opinion.

A question for those who have seen the show. Is Matt appearing on the opening number of Piazza ?
