Jay Johnson: The Two and Only
"No offense, but that's really rude. I happened to meet her by the stage door and, unlike some other nominees this year, she really care about every single person there. I asked her if it's hard doing the show, and she said that it's probably the most challenging on Broadway right now."
Next time you meet Ms. Bundy, tell her to go step into Ebersole's role. That's probably the most challening on Broadway now.
And you shouldn't win a Tony for caring about people. Yes, it's nice when a star is nice to his fellow performers, but it's not The Nice Person Awards.
And Ms. Munk, Ms. Ebersole, Ms. McDonald and Ms. Murphy are among the most generous, kindhearted performers working today who care and respect their costars deeply. So you're wrong there too.

"The Nice Person Award" - Isn't that one of the categories in Broadway.com's Audience Awards?
I'm neeervous! eep!
""The Nice Person Award" - Isn't that one of the categories in Broadway.com's Audience Awards? "
No, but within a year the two blandos that will be in Grease will not only take those, but outstanding chemistry, outstanding newcomer, outstanding actor, actress, blah blah. Oh dear God.
It's the Nice-y-est Person Award, Foster.
And I don't want to make ANY predictions final. I'm trying to give myself a good reason, but it's just because I'm a nervous wreck.
You haven't seen them yet jv. Wait until you have seen them.
"Nice-y-est" Now that's more Broadway.com-ish.
Wonderfulwizard-
I haven't seen them, but they were pretty terrible on the television program. I doubt they'll do better eight times a week if they can sustain that scheduale.
pjsings-
your prediction of a tie for best actress in a musical seems a bit far fetched.
Christine Ebersole will win on her own, IMO.
(not that I care too much if they tie, as long as she's a recipient.)
Still don't judge until you see them. They could be great.
Okay, bumping this thread one last time.
Also, I have changed a few of my predictions.
Best Musical from MP to SA
Best Book from GG to SA
& Lead Actress in a Play from Eve Best to Julie White
Other than that, my choices are staying the same.
Why did you change Best Book? Just wondering.

jv92, I'm just not feeling the overwhelming LOVE for the Grey Gardens book that I am for many of the other categories. That coupled with the fact that they lost the Drama Desk to Curtains, the New York Times sample poll went against Grey Gardens, and folks have actually complained about the GG's book more than theyve praised it, lead me to believe the the defult winner here will be, the equally annoying Spring Awakening. JMO.
I am also locking in my FINAL FINAL predictions.

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE- TIE
Grey Gardens, Music: Scott Frankel Lyrics: Michael Korie
Spring Awakening, Music: Duncan Sheik Lyrics: Steven Sater
I'll tell you why they'll tie. (Ooh, a little rhyming there.) I just played the magnificent vocal selections from Grey Gardens that I printed out. The music was magnificent of course, but it was so very complex. Jerry Likes My Corn is the first good song I've heard in 7|4! (Aside from the few passages in that meter from I Read from Passion.) The chord structure is just breathtaking. And those melodies! Korie's lyrics are equally spectacular. I think it would be foolish of the voters to pass on such a spectacular score. Give the Tony to both!

"That coupled with the fact that they lost the Drama Desk to Curtains"
Grey Gardens was not up for any Drama Desks this year as it was nominated multiple times last year. It didn't lose to anything.
Also, if Utopia takes all three design awards, would it be the first time a play took the all three?

LaCageAuxFollesFan2, You stated that GREY GARDENS lost the Drama Desk to CURTAINS for Best Book. GREY GARDENS was nominated last year and lost the Book Award to THE DROWSY CHAPERONE.
I stand corrected, you are right. SA lost to Curtains this year. GG lost to Drowsy last year. I just like the voters will be beside themselves to reward the intelectual merrit of SA and will wind up giving them the undeserved Book Tony as well. Just a hunch.
Ok, here aer my FINAL predictions. Do I get a prize if I get the most right? =)
