Random, but they just came out with a new commercial- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZJrlM747jI&feature=sub

Sounds like they *did* record I'm A Believer professionally... I guess that's what they're adding to the highlights cd.

That's what I thought at first, but 1, when I listened closer, it just sounded way too clear for that (I could still always be wrong).
And 2, what else is the point of releasing this Highlights CD?

"Catch Me if You Can" is probably going to get to play at the Broadway Theatre which would be fine with me. I hope it's not something lame like "First Wives Club."

"And 2, what else is the point of releasing this Highlights CD?"

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The Highlights CD will be a cheaper alternative to the full cast album. It will entice people to buy something rather than walk away empty-handed because they thought the regular cast recording was too expensive.

With this closing, and the recent closing of The Little Mermaid, maybe this will end the trend of overblown cartoon musicals.

I blame it on the fact that Brian and Sutton are both leaving. I couldn't picture the show without them. I'm really getting sick of this. Wicked and Next to Normal better stick around.

Are you stupid? They haven't broken even WITH Brian & Sutton.

Most people who live outside of NYC may not know who they are.

Oh I'm well aware of the money factor haha
All I'm saying is it just seems silly to do this without spicing up a bit.

If "First Wives Club" goes to the Broadway Theatre it will proably last just as long as "Story of My Life."

Francesca Zambello's first musical, The Little Mermaid, was a flop. It got bad reviews during it's tryout run and didn't quite have a long run on Broadway. FWC was PANNED by critics, so it will probably have an even shorter run than TLM.

ANYTHING will pale when compared to FIRST WIVES' - EVEN THE LIL MERMAID!!!

I'm Red-Day for FWC!

The First Wife's Club wont be coming to Broadway.

When they announce the leads for Promises, Promises. They will also announce the Theatre. Which will be the Broadway theatre

Ok, FWC would be, like, totally outrageous contagious. I'd be there at the first preview!

So, FIRST WIVES CLUB or CMIYC for the Broadway.

Dibs on SISTER ACT for this theatre!

Do the producers or the powers that be behind PROMISES, PROMISES really think they could turn a profit at the Broadway? I'd assume that means the production is relatively big and expensive.

Hayes and especially Chenoweth are hardly gonna sell out the barn that is the Broadway. Or do you guys disagree?

I don't disagree. There's no way Promises, Promises would make it at the Broadway.

"I blame it on the fact that Brian and Sutton are both leaving. I couldn't picture the show without them. I'm really getting sick of this. Wicked and Next to Normal better stick around."

It has NOTHING to do with that. No one outside of the theater community really knows who Sutton Foster and Brian d'Arcy James are. Shrek is based on a popular movie, and that was the selling point of the entire musical. Why do you think they added "I'm a Believer" into the show's ending? Because it was in the movie (not to mention a well-known song). So just because you cannot imagine the show without them doesn't mean they were the driving force behind ticket sales.

By the way, Sutton will be with the show until the end of the run, so you couldn't blame the closing on her anyway.

I think the Lyceum Theatre might be good for Promises, Promises because it isn't a huge theater or a tiny one.
