Thank you! I'm utterly in love with that album. I've been making my mom listen to it since she will be accompanying me and I don't want her to sit there not knowing any of it!
It's not identical, but very close. She also does "Miss Lonelyhearts," which she did on her "Heat Wave" album (though here it's paired with "My Buddy," instead of "Always). There were a couple other additions and subtractions that I'm not recalling.
Did anyone who saw her in this (or her other 54 Below Concerts) know if she comes back into the dining area to sign after the show? Some performers come back in the room and sign, does Patti?
I am going to the late show tonight. Really looking forward to it.
I was there one evening when she did the string of shows for the opening of 54 Below. Went in for a drink after her show. She sat at a table with her husband and others but did not do pictures and nobody approached her. I was sitting at the bar rail and when she went to the bathroom she nodded and smiled at me. That was enough!
Just got back from the 8 o'clock show. I'm speechless. Utterly speechless. I could listen to her sing love every night of my life and never get bored. What an inspiration and beautiful person.
I really enjoyed myself. She sounded great and was evidentally really enjoying herself. Enjoyed her intereaction with a few audience members and she had to have made eye contact with everyone in the front half of the room! During one song she just turned in our direction and zeroed in on my eyes in the middle of the song. I also like that I was not familiar with a lot of the songs she did. Always nice hearing something " new". Her band is really good also.
^ She sang the song "Primitive Man" to a man right by the stage, and at the end of the song he said, "I'm a pastor!" It was HILARIOUS. They had a cute little bantor about it. It's just so lovely to see someone enjoy what they do. I look up to her so much, and this is coming from someone who has no desire to sing or dance or be on stage. I just want to find my passion in life so I can shine like she does when she's on stage!
She did the same last night. House left at the corner of the stage. I was sitting across ad 2 seats behind him. I enjoyed the "Do it again" song she sang to a guy. Near the end he waved his white napkin as if surrendering to her. She actually lost it laughing when he did it.
Saw show today at 7pm, ended at about 8:15, and WOW. Patti always delivers but she put on a damn good show tonight. After the show I was brought backstage to get a picture, and she was super gracious and kind as well.
No, a friend knows Jen Tepper, and knew it has been a long time goal to get a picture with Mrs. LuPone, and since today is my birthday, she talked to Jen for me (who works at 54 Below) and get forwarded the email to Patti's team, and I went up to her dressing room after the show to get a picture! I have a great friend. :)
