does anyone know the size of the theatre wicked performed in in San Francisco, was it as big as Gershwin? and does anyone also know why or when steven shwartz changed the lyrics from the san francisco run to now? im very curious, would love to know!!!!

Have you heard some of the San Francisco lyrics before they were revised? They kinda sucked.

Yeah the theatre was very big. I think it might have been bigger than the gershwin...i think something like 2,000 seats or something

It was smaller. If I remember correctly it was the Curran Theatre and it seats 1617.

The Curran is the smallest of the three main San Francisco theatres (the others being The Golden Gate and The Orpheum) with 1667 seats. It strikes me as much smaller than The Gershwin, although perhaps that's only because The Gershwin is so cavernous.

wow!!! Wicked is in such a big theatre.... they say they are gonna bring WICKED to Westend, that's for definite. but we are all wondering which theatre they are going to use... it was rumoured to be New London Theatre (cats). I think it only holds about 1200-1400 people.... they might change the set?!
