What are some awful, terrible songs from classic, amazing, beloved musicals. I thought this would be interesting. The first ones that come to mind for me are:

Posted: 12/9/04 at 2:02amI thought about Little People....the melody and usually the kid singing is IS terrible - but I love the lyrics. I'm also torn with "Carefully Taught" from SOUTH PACIFIC. Great message and lyrics, terrible melody.

I don't believe this should be considered a "classic"! I dislike the song itself, and have never heard a good version of it.
I realize what you mean, though, about "bad" songs.
Guess I'll add "Into the Woods" as one of those horrors (who would sing this one, anyhow?).

Stupid "Clambake" from pro-spousal abuse "Carousel."
"Ribbons Down my Back" is SCARY!!!
"Castle on a Cloud" bugs the livin' poop outta me. "Little People" is my LOVE!
"My Mother's Wedding Day" from "Brigadoon," although fun, does little besides show us that Meg is a hussy, but we knew that already.
"We Have All Been Blind's" melody and harmonizing is horrid in "POTO."
