So you think Wicked is a good show, but you think 90% of the music is terrible? I'm not following...
My #1 choice - "Western People Funny" from The King & I.
AN ORDINARY COUPLE, sound of music. thank god they replaced it for the movie. of course SOMETHING GOOD wasn't that great either.
AHHHH. Western People Funny is such a fun song!
My choice is "A Little Bit of Good" from CHICAGO. It dosen't belong in the score.
I like a lot of the songs being mentioned....
but I would like to add:
-Little Lamb from Gypsy (only song I don't like in the show)
BLASPHEMY! Never beseech the royal reputation of Les Misérables infront of me! I have no idea what I just said!
Also, "Something Bad" from the 'W'-word absolutely makes me want to fly out the window!
Class from Chicago
With A Little Bit of Luck from My Fair Lady
I agree with pretty much what everyone said. I also want to add Schroeder from You're A Good Man Charlie Brown-I hate hearing people screaming it!
I second "Little People." I love everything else about it, but whenever this song starts (actually, any time Gavroche sings) I just want to scream.
And I'm going to add "A Change In Me" from B&TB. It serves no purpose other than to bring the show to a grinding halt. Plus, was it written off-key or is it just impossible to sing?
Oh gawd, i hate "something bad" from wicked. and "more i cannot wish you" from Guys and Dolls. That song doesnt fit in the show and drives me nuts!
dog eats dog-Les Miz
I hate that song. It is not bad. If fact I think it works very well. But I feel it is so cold and shameless that make me sick.
Clambake from Carousel! especially considering that it was meant to be This was a real nice Hayride from Oklahoma!
Castle on a cloud irritates the bejeezus out of me
The Rumour from Fiddler on the Roof...i hear topsy turvy is not much better.
Send in the Clowns from ALNM...it's just this song is too overrated!
There was a song in ARI that was rhyming & I think it was about flowers or some such thing. Absolutely dreadful . Someone please explain to me what the hell "Send In The Clowns " means. It sounds nice but I have not got a clue what it means
I am probably going to slapped through cyber space, but I don't really like the song "A Little Priest" from Sweeney Todd. I think it tries TOO hard to be funny and it just gets annoying. Also, I hate how the words try so hard to rhyme with each other and I think that is how it is meant to be but I don't really like it (I do like the end of it though). Other than that, great musical.
I've said this before, and I completely understand that the song is crucial to the plot, but "Lonely Room" from Oklahoma. It was just boring to me.

Then it has done its job - He's in the sewers stealing from dead bodies...should it make you feel good?

It's a Scandal It's an Outrage from Oklahoma (lonely Room is needed to the show--this is crap)
The Rumour and Topsy Turvey from Fiddler
Bui Doi or however it's spelled from Miss Saigon. Preachy, and AWFUL.

"Little People" drives me up the wall. Thank goodness it was cut (somewhat)!
I totally agree with THE RUMOR, and the even worse TOPSY TURVEY from FIDDLER. SOOOOOOOOOOOO BAD!
others i thought of:
An Ordinary Couple: THE SOUND OF MUSIC
No Way to Stop It: THE SOUND OF MUSIC
Dites Moi - SOUTH PACIFIC
That song "Ah, sweet mystery" something something "at last I've found you," or SOMETHING like that from MILLIE. I dont like MILLIE at all - I think it's a terrible show, but most of the music is good - that song it just terrible.
"Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life" is by Victor Herbert, and while it originally comes from the operetta Naughty Marietta, was one of the great song hits of the early half of the last century. Its overwrought nature and feverish operatic swooning has made it an easy mark for comedy, and it has popped up in everything from Bugs Bunny cartoons to Young Frankenstein. By the time it was used in Thoroughly Modern Millie, the idea of employing it to comically suggest two people falling instantly and madly in love was a very old idea indeed.
DRESSED IN YOUR PYJAMAS IN THE GRAND SALON, titanic
oh, i'm sure there are plenty of you would say this is not a "classic amazing" show and that the entire score is bad, but i happen to like it ... so there.
"Someone please explain to me what the hell "Send In The Clowns " means. It sounds nice but I have not got a clue what it means "
When you go to a circus, and you are watching the tightrope walkers, it would be so easy for them to fall. Desiree is in that place in her life, she is the tightrope walker. When a tightrope walker falls, what does the Ringmaster do? He Sends in the Clowns. The Clowns are the Ringmasters way of distracting the public from the accident that has just befallen. Desiree has fallen, and someone could send in the clowns for her, but "don't bother, they're here." They have been sent...or the double meaning that one could glean (probably more obvious) is that Desiree and Fredrik are the clowns themselves. Whoever the Clowns may be, they serve the purpose of distracting the people around Desiree and Desiree herself from her true feelings.

Ah I was gonna say An ordinary Couple -Sound of Music. Wretched--it just goes on and on and on. Something Good from the movie is MUCH better (although I do like No Way to Stop it a lot)
good Send in the Clowns description tho' it's even simpler than that--in many old shows whenveer something would go wrong, or wasn't going over well with an audience, they'd simply send in the clowns to distract the audience.

"Something Bad".awful..
most of "Hairspray"...boring..everything sounds alike
"A change in me" even more boring
