I just finished a short run in "10 Little Indians" which is also called, "And Then There Were None." I didn't have huge expectations, but ended up having a blast. It really is a bit chilling and doesn't resort to flashy effects or overly-done violence. The thrills come from the storytelling of Agatha Christie. I'd love to see this upcoming production in London.
PS...I played Anthony Marsten, the young, good-looking playboy. Hehe.
isn't TEN LITTLE INDIANS the same script as THE MOUSETRAP? If it is, than it's been on the West End as THE MOUSETRAP for many many years. I walked by the theatre on my way to see SWEENEY TODD at New Ambassadors. I thnk MOUSETRAP has been up and running in the West End for over 40 years. In the 60's there was a movie version of THE MOUSETRAP aka AND THEN THERE WERE NONE called 10 LITTLE INDIANS. Hugh O'Brian, Fabian, Shirley Eaton and Dahla Lavi were the house guests who were knocked off one by one. I always assumed that this was the same show as MOUSETRAP but under a different title. Forgive me if I misunderstood the original post. :)
Well, they are as different as any two Agatha Christie plays can be. The problem with the play, as compared with the original novel is that somebody has to survive to make it palatable.
The Indians of the title refer to Eastern Indians rather than aboriginal Native American Indians. As a matter of fact, the original title was "Ten Little n*s", refering to a British perjorative reference to those East Indians.
