Hi fellow theatre lovers.
I forgot how much I love this show.
Just wanted to give a heads up on this performance of FALSETTOS.
There are just a few more days before they take down the link to the full recording of this wonderful live performance. So if you are fan of the show, follow the link and enjoy.

That is great! But, who plays Tina? Her last name sure isn't Pitch...

Flahooey,
Do you know how to purchase this? When I go to buy it comes up blank.
Thanks!
Marway44. No I don't think you can purchase it. It is not listed on the LATW website for sale.
Frankly,I've been trying to figure out a way to record it, but alas...
Can someone please find a way to record this!
It sounds so amazing!
WOW!
Thank you so much for this link. :) Falsettos is probably one of my favorite musicals of all time. It's great to hear pieces of cut music, different lyrics and to hear it live! Ugh, Trina... give me Alison Fraser, Barbara Walsh or Carolee Carmello!
Anyone have any information on this recording? When was it performed.. was this the out of town tryout?
Someone PLEASE find a way to save this recording!

And the character's first name sure isn't Tina. It's Trina and the actress playing her is Marnie Mosiman.
The full cast for this production is:
Marvin: Michael Rupert
Whizzer: Stephen Bogardus
Mendel: Chip Zien
Trina: Marnie Mosiman
Jason: Asher Book
Dr. Charlotte: Kathy Garrick
Cordelia: Amy Pietz
This isn't an out of town try out. This production was performed at the LA Theatre Works May 28-June 1, 2003.
This recording was originally intended to available for purchase but my understanding is that it was available for an extremely limited time.
I listen to my copy nearly as much as the commercial 2-disc recording of "March of the Falsettos" and "Falsettoland" now as I love having the full show with all of the Broadway changes.
I do agree that Marnie Mosiman isn't as enjoyable to listen to as Alison Fraser, but then again few people are.
ETA: Some of the individual tracks from this recording are often featured on Michael Rupert's MySpace site.

Thanks for the info, Patronus :)
If anyone happens to have an extra copy of this CD that they're willing to part with, please PM me!
Thanks!
Me too!
Me Three!
Me Four!!!
I'm not crazy about the Trina too, but the "live" "full" recording is such a treat.
Two of the tracks from the LA Theatre Works production ("A Tight-Knit Family" as well as "What More Can I Say") can be heard in Stephen and Clay's chat with Michael on their Sunset and 42nd PodCast, which can be downloaded via their MySpace page. Link below.
The live version of "What Would I Do" is currently on Michael's MySpace page.

Is it me or does Trina sound like Allison with a horrible cold?

I love the LA Theatre Works production of FALSETTOS, although I agree that the Trina is the weak link on the recording. But the lead men sound amazing!!! Plus I also like hearing it how it was heard on Broadway with the lyric changes.
Also, I noticed that "Marvin At The Psychiatrist" from that recording is now up on Michael's MySpace page.

IS it still up? I can't find the full recording...
Ok, never mind. All you need is an audio ripper and you can get the recording to your computer. I could have done it, but alas...
