first of all, if the actors name appears above the title you can exchange your seats if the actor is out. you will be waiting a while (for that show), but you can exchange.
secondly, working for a producer, if kelly's agent didnt negotiate paid time off then she has a crappy agent:) there are ALWAYS exceptions, esp for leads!
"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

William Michals will be on for Emile September 9th through the 14th.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
For those that are determined to sell tickets, feel free to PM me offers.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
I saw the show for a second time tonight, and Duncan was on for O'Hara. O'Hara is, in my view, a superior singer technically, but Duncan does bring out Nellie's earthiness more so than O'Hara. Duncan is more of a belter and is not as lithe as O'Hara (she doesn't do the cartwheels in A Wonderful Guy). At any rate, both women are fine although I do have a soft spot in my heart for O'Hara just because I love her vocal technique.
I wouldn't be upset about not seeing O'Hara and seeing Duncan in her place.
Not being able to see Paulo Szot, however, is a different matter altogether
Yes, they should be. Kelli's vacation is in July (the week of the 15th) and Paulo's is in September (week of the 9th).
I'm surprised Kelli was out last night. I guess she's sick, so I hope she feels better! I'm sure her understudy was good, but I can't imagine the show without Kelli.
Great, just great. I have had my tickets purchased for July 17 since my husband I came home from NYC on April 6. Why???? I am so disappointed - it doesn't change anything, but I saw her on Letterman, I watched her on the Tony's and.... kept getting so excited. Read all the threads about her great connection to the audience and her role. Now it is not to be. Of course I will go with my friend - to celebrate our 50th bdays as planned- but knowing we didn't get to see the entire Tony winning show. I will hit the bar in the lobby before hand.
