Interesting, they seem to be going for literal costuming (as opposed to stylized, suggested costuming as in TLK). So can we assume that Brian D'Arcy James' face will be covered with pounds of green makeup and prosthetics?
These early set design concept photos are really neat.
Excited to hear word from the first preview!
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
Why did you take away the picture of Brian D'Arcy James as Shrek. IN COSTUME! Why? He looked great!
edit: I found the pic. Here it is.
"He found something that he wanted, had always wanted and always would want— not to be admired, as he had feared; not to be loved, as he had made himself believe; but to be necessary to people, to be indispensable."

wicked_beast4, I gave it it's own thread, since apparently USA Today was granted the special opportunity of having "the big reveal" (which I thought more people would want to see.)

Can someone send me the Demo? I would much appreciate it...with love!
"In the U.S.A.
You can have your say,
You can set you goals
And seize the day,
You've been given the freedom
To work your way
To the head of the line-
To the head of the line!"

Big, Bright, Beautiful World: It sounds so awesome and energetic, and shows that Shrek thought he was happy before he met Donkey and Fiona.
I Could Get Used To This: Donkey was one of my favorite characters in the movie, so I'm a little partial to him, and Donkey sounded so happy, and when he was singing, I could just imaging him dancing around, looking at every detail in Shrek's swamp and house, gushing at it all.
I Know It's Today: the song and lyrics were pretty good...I never knew she was such a good bowler...
The Wall: I loved how it perfectly expresses how Shrek feels about the world..he wants to keep away from the world because it's too painful for him.
I could imagine him singing this while sitting on the cliff edge where they were camping in the movie while Donkey and Fiona were asleep.
Brian is a really good singer. he perfectly expressed Shrek's feelings of loneliness and bitterness against the world.
I really hope they keep this in the final version of the musical... Updated On: 8/12/08 at 08:31 PM
Does anyone think that if I wait longer for tickets for Shrek previews in November better seats will become available? And would I get better seats by calling instead of looking online? There will be 7 of us.
Any help would be appreciated!
