Sara Ramirez? I'd be surprised if it's her, but she fits the criteria.

Elphaba3, Sara Ramirez has been in four Broadway shows (THE CAPEMAN, FASCINATING RHYTHM, A CLASS ACT, and SPAMALOT.)

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Oh for goodness sake, can you either just tell people or give a clue?

Otherwise this thread is just going to go on and on with random names....

I have told all that I have been permitted to say, which is that the permanent replacement coming in January is new to the show, has one previous Broadway credit, and has primarily made a career off of television (of the scripted variety.)

Everything else I have said in this thread has simply been a correction as to how certain suggestions do not fit the previous description.

An official announcement should be made very soon.

Do you know who is taking over for Katie in National tour and do you know if Katie and Julie Reiber have a chance on Broadway for WIcked?

Amanda Bynes!! She fits all the descriptions!

Of course I'm totally kidding. It's a humorous thought though!

Natalie Weiss would be really interesting. I don't know what her acting is like, but she would sound amazing. However, when I was talking to her a couple months ago, she told me she was working on those songs and she was getting exhausted going through them.

I'm surprised that Julie isn't going to be promoted any time soon. The whole reason she left the LA company is because she was assuming to be promoted once Eden left, but the producers went with Caissie Levy instead and offered Julie another standby contract. Seems weird she would take a standby contract without being promised the lead at some point.

californiasnow, that can't be correct because Caissie went over to LA and was the new stand-by before she took over.

I'm a little bummed this counts out Kate Shindle.

The clue is kinda vague so I'm really at a loss.

Tracie Thoms and Kristen Bell have two shows.
I'm guessing Christina Applegate doesn't have the voice? She is definitely known for TV and she has one broadway credit.
Lauren Ambrose.

I got nothing.

I haven't a clue either.
I was kinda hoping for either Julie Reiber or Kate Shindle. re: New Elphaba?

Do you know how long it will be until we hear the official announcement?

WOW2, it is correct. Julie's original contract was 9 months, which put her at the beginning of November 07. Sometime in October, she was informed she would not be offered the lead in LA, but was offered an extension of her standby contract. She elected to leave, so Caissie came on as standby for 2 months before she took over full time on January 1st of 08. It was known before Caissie even started as standby that she would replace Eden.

So.... Katie Holmes? Done with All My Sons Jan. 11th and buying up apartments in NYC to remodel as we speak on 14th Street? TV and Movies with only one Broadway credit to her name. Am I correct?
