Word is spreading so fast. It's averaged about 100k every 20 minutes. I bet she'll reach that 2.5 million goal by midnight.

I will I'll say that I (sadly) doubt anything will come of this recount, but at least we'all be able to move on without years of conspiracy theories about it.

With attorney fees and recount observer costs, they actually need to reach closer to $5-7M, but they raised more than $2.5M in less than 24 hours.  It seems doable.

The more I read about this, I don't put much stock in it. Moveon.org supports it but says the electoral results are "unlikely to change." I hope it's not just Crazy Jill selling more snake oil to easily disillusioned millennials.

That's exactly what it is. A desperate and obvious attempt by an opportunistic scumbag to keep her name in the news for 15 more minutes and gain some sort of cred as a hero with people who two weeks later still can't accept what they never thought could actually happen. Nate Silver whose opinion I respect a lot more than hers tweeted yesterday "Patterns in Trump's vote in swing states are well-explained by demographics—not hacking". There's no there, there. The Clinton campaign was given the same information and so far is choosing not to start a formal challenge. If they do, it's their right. Until then, it's utterly disrespectful by Stein to push this circus forward if Hillary's people have chosen not to. I didn't think I could think less of Stein than I already did. I was wrong.

Given how wrong Nate Silver was about this election, I'm not sure his opinion means a whole lot anymore.

That being said, I agree that nothing is likely to change as a result of all this. Nevertheless, if there was ever going to be a year for something bizarre to happen, this would be it.

Poll-averaging the 11 Pennsylvania polls that ended 10/30 and 11/1, Clinton is ahead by 4/4 points, with the lowest being +2 and the highest being +11. It would be statistically impossible for him to take Pennsylvania.

And according to this Politico poll, there's not going to be any Brexit effect or Bradley effect or "Shy Trump Voter effect" either:

POLITICO: Poll: 'Shy Trump' voters are a mirage: A new study suggests an army of hidden Trump supporters is unlikely to materialize on Election Day

Not only did Trump take The United States (and Pennsylvania that was supposed to be impossible)  but in a shocking event French President Hollande will be the latest Domino. First time in Modern French History a President did not try reelection.

Clinton vs. Trump: The Coming Republican Apocalypse

"

NYTIMES
STRASBOURG, France — Battered by months of dismal approval ratings and a stubbornly high unemployment rate, President François Hollande of France announced Thursday night that he would not compete in next year’s election.

The unprecedented decision opened up and energized France’s presidential race even as it added further turmoil to the country’s unsettled politics. It also injected new uncertainty into the political dynamic of Europe as far-right and populist forces are gaining strength across the Continent, as well as in the United States.

Populism is on a roll.

Throw the Bums out, Pt 4...

1- Brexit

2-Trump Revolution

3- French President Hollande first Modern French President NOT to run for reelection

4- Italy PM Renzi resigns  in populist revolt

There is some hope though for the Ruling Elites. Nazi symbols will still be rejected.  Austrias 72 year Old beat a far right candidate who actually wore Nazi symbols.

Thank God Austria rejected this "Populism" which is just the same old totalitarian suppression of alternative ideas and a pluralist society. It doesn't engage the "populace" at all, just the stupidest element of it, the frightened mob that is looking for a scapegoat, which can be Jews, gypsies, Catholics, communists, immigrants, Mexicans, Muslims--the group doesn't matter as long as the "populist" leader can depict that group as the villain and the group to punish.

People like Petra/Suestorm flock to the tyranny of "populism," because by nature, Ukrainians enjoy totalitarian rule, whether it is submitting to it under the Nazis, submitting to it under the Communists or submitting to it under Putin.

When suffering under the yolk of "populism," Ukrainians like Petra/Suestorm attack the most vulnerable group. Back during World War Two, the Ukrainians of Petra/Suestorm's parents' and grandparents' generation took out their frustration by rounding up and helping the German's kill over 2 million Jews, many of them simply shot and killed by the Einsatzgruppen and local Ukrainian supporters in various regions of Ukraine.

So beware of people extolling the virtues of "populism"...especially when those people are Eastern European.

Poor Pal Know-it-all, still suffering from his humiliting predictions from the Election and grabbing straws

Your arguments against Populism which is flooding the Western World are the same ones used by Royal and Clergy Elites against the the sansculottes in Paris France 1790s.  The Ruling Classes also refused to listen to the people and you saw what happened to them. As you may know, The French Revolution was felt all over the Civilized World

As I have told you before I am not Russian or Ukrainian or Sue. But you know this.  I guess to you that is an insult, but it just shows what an ugly angry man you are. All you are proving is how  ugly you get when someone does not think of your words as The Lords,  For your information, Petra is NOT a Russian name. So keep the insults and name calling coming. All it shows is how desperate you are.

in the spirit of Christmas and our Lord and Saviours Birth,  I offer those who still cannot deal normally with this election results a safespace to help you cope this Christmas Season.

New York City is offering its municipal workforce counseling services and other support for dealing with election-year stress brought on by Donald Trump’s election.

We have seen the concerns expressed on social media and we are monitoring them closely,” the Mayors email reads.

Asked about the email, City Hall press secretary Eric Phillips said it was a show of care for employees’ well-being.

“The post-election period has been anxiety-producing for many people, understandably,” he said. “When you throw the holidays into that, it can be a very difficult time for those coping with mental health challenges.”

The Global Wave of Populism That Turned 2016 Upside Down

By Adam Taylor

The core of populism is a concerted anti-establishment posture: It's us (“the people) vs. them (“the establishment). A distrust of the elite and pandering to the masses has been around before 2016, of course.

...

Even after this bumper year, there is plenty of room for populism to spread. Next year, there are major elections in France, Germany and Holland, where it is probable that populist-leaning parties or candidates will do well, although they are unlikely to form governments. The political crises in Britain, Italy and South Korea will no doubt continue.

I see you did not read the article I post above from that bias Republican rag THE WASHINGTON POST

Populism is the exact opposite.  Its is the POPULISTS,the population, the masses. First Brexit, then America and now, soon the rest of Europe. What was called the sans-culottes in France during that other Revolution in 1792 when they revolted against the Royal and Noble Elites including Louis XVI and his Austrian Wife Marie-Antoinette and brought freedom to the masses, farmers and uneducated
