I'm going on Saturday afternoon...and I'm rooting for Maria Sharapova. I was happy that Kvitova lost yesterday because now she doesn't have to face Sharapova in the Quarterfinals!
On the men's side, I'd be happy with any of the top four men winning...they are all excellent and all deserving. I guess it would be nice to have either Djokovic or Muray win, since neither one has won this tournament before (and it would be Murray's first slam).
I'll be watching/listening on my computer starting at 11am today!

They had 35.00 seats available for tonight and I didn't grab one. Rafa and Serena are playing. Someone tell me what is wrong with me!! I am watching on the Tennis Channel.

I was there on Saturday - got to see Schiavone, Jankovic, Fish, and Kuznetsova. Had a blast (and now I have no voice at all from all the cheering/screaming I did).
Still upset about Maria's third round loss to Pennetta, but she won't make it past the semifinals.
Looks like the top four men will probably make the semis again...would be surprising if anyone upset them on their way to the 6th round. I have been on tennis overload for the past week...and I honestly can't get enough of it. I love this sport so much.

I had a blast on Friday seeing nearly 12 hours of tennis, including del Potro, Donald Young winning an amazing five setter and Ferrer take down hometown favorite James Black. Also, that last women's match of Stosur vs. Petrova was fantastic.
On a side note- Did anyone have the signature cocktail? DELICIOUS.

Did anyone see the Wozniacki-Kuznetsova match last night? It was a little over three hours long, but was so exciting. Too bad Kuznetsova ran out of steam at the end...I wanted her to win.
Then I watched the first two sets of the Federer match before I fell asleep...it was pretty dull, since he was winning so easily.
Three American men left in the draw...I wonder how many will be left after today's matches (possibly zero).

That Federer match last night was complete destruction. The Wozniakci/Kuznetsova match was off the charts.

I was at the Wozniacki/Kuznetsova match! It was amazing. I'm a huge Woz fan so it was great that she was able to come back and win, because when she was down a set and 1-4 in the second I felt awful. But wow, it was just a crazy match. Didn't stay for Federer/Monaco because it was so late when they started and it wasn't even a good match.
I've got a ticket for tomorrow and I'm praying it doesn't rain all day because the lineup looks AMAZING.

Of course the schedule is not set but it looks likely for the Nadal-Roddick and Ishner-Murray quarterfinals, possibly Serena's semi tossed in.

Well, how strange. I don't see any tickets listed anymore on Stubhub for Friday morning and there were lots. I do see this message on the U.S. Open site:

Oh, boy. It is going to be mayhem tomorrow at the U.S. open when the people who had Friday tickets show up only to be bumped by the Wednesday night crowd. Session 20 (Men's Quarterfinals) is bumping all persons with session 23 (Women's Semifinals) but who looks at the Session #s when you have figured out when they will play and seek the right times.
That is why Stubhub removed all the Friday tickets, though they are now back up (and much more expensive).
I was lucky, they refunded my ticket, but it would have been $221 for a new one!!! Some more people are figuring out the change and selling Session 20 tickets which are now Friday, but they are still more than three times what I'd paid. I'll check the price in the morning.

For awhile, the speed of the tennis ball in the pro game had gotten so fast that it was difficult to follow on TV. The advances in high def TV now make it much more enjoyable. However, I find it annoying that the actual pace of play rivals major league baseball. Can someone explain to me why a player who is wearing two sweatbands on each wrist needs to towel off after EVERY FREAKING POINT when the temperature is in the low 70s? The chair umpires need to be MUCH stricter enforcing the time rules to keep play moving along.
