A few old movies I’ll watch anytime they’re on TV. The second one on the list is nearly impossible to find anymore:
“The Hindenburg” with George C. Scott and Anne Bancroft.
”Lost Horizon” with Liv Ullman, Sally Kellerman, Peter Finch, and Michael York.
”Logan’s Run” with Michael York, Richard Jordan, and Farrah Fawcett.
“The Black Hole” with Maximillian Schell, Yvette Mimieux, and Anthony Perkins.
“The China Syndrome” with Jane Fonda, Michael Douglas, and Jack Lemmon.
“Xanadu” with Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly, and Michael Beck.
“Time Bandits” with Sean Connery and John Cleese.
“Valley Girl” with a very young Nicholas Cage.
“No Way Out” with Kevin Costner, Sean Young, and Gene Hackman.
“The Abyss” with Ed Harris, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Michael Biehn.

So I’m the flu movie theorist and I think that most of the responses back up my concept. The criteria:
A plot that holds the attention but periodically trails offf into questionable territory.
Performances that run the gamut from expert to dismal.
Production design is a tricky element. It can be expert and the sole reason for watching, or inept, but irrelevant due to great performances or a clever screenplay.
The other keys to these movies are:
A law of diminishing returns franchise.
An A stars latter B movie trajectory.
Inferior remakes of classic movies.
Hit and run fad movies- Lambada, The Dance Of Love.
What else? ??

Were the World Mine is a movie I will watch anytime, anywhere (although, because of its indie status, I usually have to seek it out when I need a fix). I'm young enough that it was the film I watched over and over and over when I was coming out (by far the best compared to the utter horrors of LGBT films available on Netflix in 2009). I really do love it,despite it being cheesy and full of cringey moments. It always makes me happy when I can watch it.
As for a movie I truly believe is good, Suddenly, Last Summer is a favorite of mine, although it was critically reviled and seems to have fallen out of public favor recently. But I think it's a rather thrilling adaptation of a thrillingly theatrical play.
