I dunno, CJR. There are plenty of vanity threads here that have gotten attention. The dog's cute. I'm sure if someone else had posted pictures of their ferret dressed up in costumes or something, people would be cooing over that, too.

I'm still trying to do the math to figure out what was going on 9 months before October 22nd for his parents to be so excited about...

Walli Woo...

The name is just musical, isn't it!

I hope Miss Woo has been invited to the birthday dinner.

Marc, the first three children born to one of my friends were born in March. That's because her husband always won a sales competition that had a prize of a cruise in June. The in-laws all joked that they were going to insist he take one of them along instead on the next trip so they wouldn't go broke buying birthday presents in March.

The next time he won, it was for a trip in September...and their daughter arrived the following June... Something about the salt air and the midnight buffet, I guess.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog

my sister, my brother and I are all different ages but share the same birthday...my parents sex life (ewwww!!!) obviously kept to a very specific schedule

That is the most amazing and strange thing I've heard in a long time!!
I love Woo. I have no need to kiss celebrity butt

re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog

Miss Holly says that the best way to make Woo fly is to let her CHASE him! She loves chasing cute boy dogs!

But now that you've said she looks like a canine Gelsey Kirkland, all she wants is to do a pas de deux with Glebb!

Happy birthday, Marc--hope your airport hell is over soon!

I have to agree, if anyone here wanted to share their beloved pet pictures, I'd fawn and coo too!

It's the fun of sharing, and Woo really is a wonder, after a few minutes of meeting her, I was playing on the beach and falling in love with the sweetest pooch in town.

Dear Marc and Miss Woo,
Yay- she is a down-to-earth famous dog re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog. Sorry, my mom got busy working and forgot to include my screen name- sciencesimba. I'm stuck in the world of science because of my mom, but broadway looks like much more fun. Oh well- back to finish up my morning nap.....

Have a great flight and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog

So many emotions, so many feelings...

Let's all take a moment to ponder the possibility of a forgotten crumb on the kitchen floor with Woo

Sorry that Walli and I were unable to respond to Simba's emails, but I was so taken with Plum's earlier suggestion that I went out and spent forty eight thousand dollars on an army of ferrets and adorable miniature costumes, all thanks to the purchasing power of Marc's credit card. (By the way Marc, you might want to report all of your credit cards stolen when your plane lands, Team Shaiman had another "little episode" and you now own a solid gold coffee table and the World's Largest Pizza.)The ferrets and their costumes will compete in a sixty five episode reality series to win Walli's affections, the winner inheriting Marc's New York apartment.

Tune back in to the "A Day in the life of Walli..." thread to watch the Woo's triumphant return to NYC and her takeover of the world of reality TV!

re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog

First of all, I don't have an obsession with Chicago, I happen to work for their press agent and have friends involved with (and in) the show.

Also, having met Ann on a number of occasions (not to mention the fact that we share mutual friends) and never fawning over her, I can honestly say that I would never be up her ass should she post on the boards. I grew up in show business and I don't treat anyone any differently, based on their star status OR lackthereof.

Furthermore, I think if I had a dog, dressed him/her up and posted pictures on the board everyone would tell me they didn't give a fcuk; so don't tell me the same goes for everyone.

You can tell me to move on all you want, but the fact remains that I know a LOT of people here agree with me... and I was the only one with balls enough to post it.

Call me a bitch, tell me I have no life, tell me to get over it, but it's what I see and how I feel... and I'm not going to keep my mouth shut because there are people who don't agree with me.

BTW, I never said I didn't like Marc. I have a great respect for what he does, and more power to him. I've liked much of his work... I just think it's annoying that people fall all over him, bordering on scary worshipping the ground he walks on.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. I'll step off my soap box now.

No one's telling you to shut up. Or if they did, I missed it. I'm sorry if my posts came off as antagonistic- I honestly didn't mean it that way.

And we can talk about what "would" happen if blah-blah-blah until we turn blue, but none of us really knows, do we? Obviously this is a topic that pisses you off, so I'll leave it. I guess I haven't been to enough Shaiman Worship threads to really get mad about the butt-kissing. *shrug*

re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog

Well, I can't speak for others, but I'm pretty sure I'd have the same reaction for Simba, Miss Holly, and innumerable other non-celebrity dogs. I am a dog whacko--one of THOSE people who can never leave the dog run because I have too many pooches to talk to and meet, I'm always greeting dogs on the street, etc. Yeah, it's obnoxious. But I love them.

The fact that Walli Woo belongs to an artist I admire is a very cool plus, but I'd have posted the same responses to anydog pictured reading the Star or dressed in manolos, gold chains and a cardigan!

re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog

Thanks grownup- Simba (and I) share your sentiments. In all honesty, I thought it was (and is) hilarious to see a thread about the day in the life of a dog. Regardless of the dog owner, I would have replied (well actually Simba) in the same way.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I am a dog person and just enjoy animals. My husband isn't as animal crazy as I am, but he is like that with Simba (fortunately) so I can understand how others may find it odd.

You know, I didn't feel the need to post on this thread until I saw that -- but I wanted to say that even though I didn't post until now, I've been checking the thread, because the pictures make me smile. Some of us are just dog-lovers, CJR. Whether they're dressed up or not, whether they belong to a 'celebrity' or not, it doesn't really matter to some of us. I wouldn't want 10 threads devoted to dog pictures, but having one like this has been fun, regardless of who the dog owner is.

re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog

That wasn't to imply that I'm not a dog lover.. just to simply state that a big deal is currently being made because of WHO the dog belongs to.

If it were my dog, you all wouldn't care half as much.

re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog

Well, MY dog certainly got her share of loving on Walli-Woo's thread!

In fact, she's become INSUFFERABLE!

Every time I ask her to do a little thing like "sit" or "no barking," she says, "Who cares about YOU? I can go smooch with EDDIE VARLEY!"

I guess Miss Holly is just a star-smoocher...

re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog

can I say something?

CJR, firstly, maybe people also react to the way WOO is written about

and anyone who owns or has owned a dog understands how obsessive our devotion can get!

that being said...

can I just state something that is obvious and not at all shameful about those who treat me so nicely here?

ok, here goes...

if I was a theatre, or movie, or just a SHOW BIZ junkie like most everyone who posts here (and I am!!) I would also be kinda freaked and yes, excited if a person with my history, experience, credits, etc were to be writing in and available

is that SHOCKING for me to say out loud? oh well

I just never get it why there are always a FEW people here who feel they have to belittle the folks who treat me nicely when I have the chance to check in here...

luckily, the lovely friendships and correspondence I have been a part of since writing in here FAR outnumber the moments like this where some sourpuss has to take something so honestly sweet and make it seem shameful

I mean, I even made out with PapalovesMambo at SOS 2...why can't we all just get along??

re: A day in the life of Walli, Broadway's most famous dog

Seriously, I'm not kidding about the cat. That is one gorgeous animal. Why don't we see more pics of her?

And for the record, I'm not in show biz at all. I work in the pharmaceutical industry. I have no reason nor desire to kiss up to anyone on these boards. But a beautiful cat is a joy to behold.
