We will find out next week if she returns or not. Haven't read any rumors this week if she's quitting.
It would be very odd to not see her on the show anymore. Curious what their ratings have been for this week without her? Can't imagine Joy would be okay as moderator for the rest of the season.
This Tuesday will mark two weeks since the suspension. Will she come back then? Personally I think Whoopi should tell ABC to kiss her a*s. However.. I imagine she will be back. She has a very long association with Disney/ABC with includes the upcoming Sister Act installment.
She'd be back on Wednesday if she's returning. Nothing new in the news about if she's quitting.

But people get defensive in their ignorance. I have caused great consternation in a group of my fellow white people when I have declared "All white people are racist," which is true, because supremacy is in our culture and in our DNA. My oldest sister: "Well, *I'M* not, I don't see color." My other sister, "ALL white people? That includes you." Me: "Yes it does include me." This is not the capacity of their imagination, to reflect and be self-critical. To admit that you have benefited from a system of supremacy, in their mind, is 1) to suggest that's okay by you or 2) that you have to take some action to correct the biased system you benefit from. within
This stuff has been written about and written about and talked about and talked about for decades and decades. But what motivates people to dig in and learn if they think declaring themselves not to be racist or anti-semitic is enough? Whoopi went on Colbert Monday night and in my estimation made things worse.
She kept talking about anti-Semitism in terms of physical aspects of race, seeing Jewish people as white. Her example was if she were walking down the street and came upon a Klan march, she'd run but her Jewish friend might not because the Klan "couldn't tell" they were Jewish. Just in Orlando this past weekend there is video of the Nazi demonstration filmed from within a passing car. At a stop light, one of the Nazis yells at the person filming, "Look at him, he's a Jew. You can tell!" Think about the look of the people who tortured the main character in Mel Gibson's The Passion of The White Jesus. Think of the hooked noses of the bankers in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Think of the racist trolls that used to hang out in this site going after me when I suggested white people benefit from a system of oppression that is racist.
I'm surprised Whoopi didn't take away the message from the great movie "Passing," which was that just because *some people* "can't tell" if somebody is part of a group one belittles and oppresses out loud, doesn't mean they aren't."
Whoopi DID do the work and educate herself. We watched it in real time.

I believe that learning about our blind spots and the harm they cause others and ourselves is not something that can be done in a matter of minutes. It would probably be better if she had taken some time to do a deep dive and what the recovery folks would call a "fierce moral inventory" which her suspension might have afforded her and approached everything with a bit of humility and a report back from the work in progress.
But that's not how we like to do things in this country. Everything she said after "I get it now" was rather facile and shallow.

And basically reenforced that she believed what she said?
Oy."
Yeah, wasn't expecting her today. didn't think she said anything wrong about her return.
Reports are that Whoopi was brought back two days early from her suspension because this week is "sweeps week" and the show had horrible ratings last week without her.
Wasn't Hasselbeck supposed to guest co-host last month? No loss, just curious what happened.

I was wondering the same thing. Did you watch Joys tumble?"
I did. Think it's time for Joy to call it quits.

I thought the same thing. She fell on Thursday and likely had to do Friday's show to moderate. Could be doctor's precautions to stay home a week. She's 77 I believe? Any kind of fall at that age is going to hurt.

She'll turn 80 this year.
Joy was back today. Her and Sunny really gave it to Stephanie Grisham.
Stephanie Grisham backtracks on all of her comments. She's such an easy target for Joy & Sunny.
Wonder why Sarah's been out all week?

Yeah, there's really no loss when she's not there, plus we got Ana all week (except for Tuesday).
