thanks Allie. I'm so disappointed! This was the most interesting storyline. And I love both actors.
Why does Zoe have a freakin' british accent?!
That is such a conceit! Becky Ann Baker didnt have an accent.

That accent is leftover from the rockstar days, I believe.
??? Rockstars get british accents?
The character actually made a statement about his accent and why he had it, but it was unclear. I guess he was a British rockstar at the time, who knows? I like it.
I had a friend who went to Oxford and picked up a tiny accent, but not a full on accent like that. It makes no sense...sorry. He is a good actor, I just find that aspect suspect.
Hey, as long as they take away focus from Kendell :)
doodle, we're talking about a soap on tv! Nothing is real or makes sense, you should know that!
True!
I just wanted his mother to slap him and say, "I dont care if you are transgender...but stop with the frickin' accent!"
So now they had to bring Cambias back on to make up for the loss of the Zoe storyline. bleh.

To give some credit to Mctavish (who I feel is villainised a bit beyond reason but I admit I became an AMC obssessee as a 12 year old kid right around when she started her first stint in the early 90s--her one classic stint) the transgender storyline was all her doing--and it was agreed to be only a limited storyline from the get go. In fact it was meant originall to end during Feb (!) Sweeps but cuz of popularity both Eden and the other actor were asked to stay a bit longer. Neither had any intention of sticking around for good (though I coudl see both coming back--particularly Eden obviously).
Shame as I agree--it's the only storyline we've had of any real interest so far in 2007. I am excited for the writer change--as long as Kay Alden remembers that this isn't Y&R and AMC traditionally has much more humour than that soap we should be fine (I love that Addie Walsh is promoted to co headwriter too--shes' paid her dues ages back and has long been a close friend of Agnes Nixon and wrote 2 amazing years on Agnes Nixon's perenially never watched soap Loving back in the early 90s which reminde dme a lot of AMC at its best).
And WOOHOO so pleased to find an AMC thread on this board--for some reason I never thought to look before

Thanks Eric, I started it because I've been watching AMC since the day it began. It's part of my life. It doesn't stay active all the time, but whenever anyone wants, they bring it back up.

Awesome! i'm envious of all you've seen--I'm not as obssessed witht he show as I was as a teen in the mid 90s but it's been a part of my life since I was 10 or so--and I have boxes of videos of old 1970s episodes, know all the history--all that geeky stuff
Jeff was under contract to do Hamlet in DC for the months of June and July before he got the call to come back to AMC, which is why he's being written out now. He has to get down to DC, get settled, rehearse, etc. before the production starts. I was under the impression that AMC was bringing him and the storyline back in the fall. Of course with the writer changes that could've changed also.

I think it depends too on Eden coming back (which prob depends on if she gets a pilot this year)--though if Jeff didnt' come ack I could always see the character ocming back played by a tall *woman* as a post op. Not sure what I think of that but...

This isn't any big deal, but while watching today I was chuckling at the faux pas they made in one of the scenes.
It was in the bar, Confusion. They played prerecorded ambient sound-that of a VERY CROWDED bar, maybe the voices from 100 people. On screen, you saw a couple of tables with a few quiet people at them, and maybe a handful of silent people standing around doing nothing. It was hysterical!!!!

They always have a big prob with doing bar scenes right IMHO :P
They also can't do background actors. YOu'll see the same few walking back and forth constantly. It's funny in a mall, when there should be hundreds of different people, they have the same four going back and forth.
I remember reading an interview with Walt Willey a while ago. I'm not sure if it was a Ryan's Hope anniv or maybe when they went off the air, or if it was an AMC anniv. Walt had done so many walk-ons before becoming a regular on whichever show it was, they had to be careful with a lot of the clips they used.

I don't think Walt was ever on (in a major role) Ryan's--that was definetly AMC I remember that in the AMC anniversary trivia book. Pretty funny (though Id unno whyt hey care I've seen many soaps bring on one actor they use in one part and give htem a new role a few years later)
I haven't read through the thread to see if this was mentioned before, but I ran across this earlier tonight and found it delightful! I loved the "inside jokes" that were mentioned.
Woah - when did BWW start letting you post actual videos??? That's kind of cool.

Yeha it's too bad she wasn't at Myrtle's funeral tho mayeb that would abeen in bd taste-_Carol LOVED the baby switch story (mroe than most online fans LOL) and mentioned it a few times so unlike Oprah she seems to be one celeb fan who has stuck with the show thru the lean years

Myrtle's dead? When did that happen? Did the actress pass on? Who will run the boutique or the boarding house? I checked out of AMC during the Dixie's back and dead again storyline. I've been watching since Erica was in high school but I couldn't take it any more. I hate Colby.
Myrtle is not dead!! Where did you hear/read that?
Walt Willey played Joe Novak on Ryan's Hope for a year or so. Considering he was involved with their daughter Siobhan and was in the mob, he was part of the action.
I haven't looked at that book in ages. Should skim through it one of these days.
I just saw the playbill article that Brooks Ashmanskas will have a recurring role as Erica's agent.
I also heard that Greenlee is coming back. Someone else playing her, though.

Of course Myrtle's not dead! yet.
I knew they'd bring Greenlee back since Ryan's about to get married. Only I thought it would be Rebecca Buddig, coming back the way they all do.
