Even though it's from the creators of GLEE, I don't think I've ever been more excited for a TV show.

That's almost how I feel. Plus, it's got Jessica Lange AND Denis O'Hare? I am so in.

I read one review and it didn't say very good things about it, but when has that ever stopped a Ryan Murphy train?
I never trust reviews when it comes to horror. Ever.
And maybe they'll get Lea Michele to guest star.
And kill her.

We share a mutual dream Jordan.
I'm intrigued by everything I've seen and the cast is fantastic. Hopefully it won't have the hormonal mood swings that Ryan Murphy's shows typically have.
I really want to see it and like it, but it is Ryan Murphy so you know it'll quickly stop making sense (if it ever did in the first place). I just think Murphy is such a terrible writer, he has some strong basic ideas but the execution is so bad. Still, I agree with everyone, I'm excited about it sort of in spite of myself.
I hope the show doesn't keep Dennis O'Hare from coming back to TRUE BLOOD next summer though! And it is exciting that Connie Britton gets to be back on a TV show. I also read Eric Stonestreet from MODERN FAMILY is guest-starring which means I definitely have to watch at least the first few episodes.
My TiVo is all set!
This is actually more Brad Falchuk's work than Ryan Murphy who is responsible for the production values and not so much the writing in the pilot.
The first five minutes were posted online. It looked okay but I definitely want to see more.

The NY Times review makes specific mention of Dylan McDermott being naked and buff. I'll DVR it and FF to the good stuff.
Even if it starts out well, I know that Murphy will find a way to eff it up. Oh well, though, I'll give it a go for nekkid McDermott and Ms. Lange.
Well, Jessica Lange scared the pookie out of me, at any rate.

"I'm Constance from next door."
"I'll DVR it and FF to the good stuff."
I thought FF was an entirely different thing in this context.
I'm mad I forgot to DVR it...but I was bawling my eyes out at RENT last night, it's ok.

Not so great, right? I really want to like it, and I'll watch a few more episodes, but right now it's a bunch of really good actors, semi-decent mood and a really REALLY terrible script, which I guess means it's a Ryan Murphy joint through and through.
Yeah, it's kind of all over the place. The only thread that you could really follow throughout the pilot was the marriage difficulties--the least interesting element, to my mind.
But I'll certainly try a few more.
I had a fun time watching it.
Jessica plays creepy really well!
Did anyone catch her on Craig Ferguson the other night? She was sauced!

I was mostly struck by the listless and clunky writing, but I did love watching Jessica. I agree that she was totally wonderful in her creepiness. I'm sorry I missed her on Craig Ferguson.
Also, even with 70% of his body covered in burns, I still want to do Denis O'Hare.

I'm going to stick with this. I haven't waited this long to just give up on it, but I agree it was a little all over the place. Part of me thinks this is supposed to be horror, so that's ok because they're going to need to set up a LOT if this is going to continue longer than 6 episodes.
Jessica Lange and her character are deliciously twisted and I can't wait to see what happens with her and her daughter. I'm guessing the daughter has some kind of 6th sense since she knows about the house and can also see ghosts - We'll have to see how that plays out especially since the wife doesn't want her anywhere near her now. Again, that's something else that should have been stretched out. It seems like there was a lot of rushing done plotwise for the pilot.
One of my major issues is that they're already being told to "Get out of the house!" and they were only halfway through the first episode with nothing having even happened to them yet (that they know of) in there. There were also a few scenes that didn't make sense to me. When the maid was on top of the husband, his wife saw them and ran away and he chased after her, didn't he? And the next scene she's fixing the mural on the wall and he comes in and talks to her and all is fine with no mention of what just happened. Unless I really missed something there...
Anyways, it wasn't as good as I had hoped but not as bad as I feared it could have been. I'm certainly excited for next weeks episode still.
I thought it was the daughter who saw them?
Didn't Lange's daughter see the dead twins?
