Clarkson is losing her voice.



She's the best idol to come out of the competition, and she's DESTROYING her chords.

I don't even want to talk about Bette Midler. That was PAINFUL.

Be nice to Bette! That performance was indeed dreadful, but I saw her perform a few years ago, and she was as divine as always -- so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt of probable sound problems.

Clarkson sounded fine in the Beatles medley. I thought the rasp was a choice for "Never Again," which on the whole works fantastically (aside from that one very sour note).

At least Kelly doesn't lip sync. BTW- Go Jordin! My daughter and I picked her from the start because we had seen her on America's Talented Kids on the PAX channel a couple of years ago. She was phenomenal back then. She is so marketable and I believe will do very well in the future. She's an excellent role model for young girls!

I thought Melinda was great with the Wynans- and I'm Jewish! Also thought Carrie's voice was beautiful in the Beatles medly. Always love Gladys- grew up with her and she's still great!

I turn gay whenever Kelly Clarkson is performing; she just transforms into this fierce, smooth, sexy diva. And the rasp is hott. With two ts.

And her voice has sounded like that for YEARS--even when she was on Idol, she had weird little falters in her voice. People have been saying for years that she's been losing her voice, and it sounds the same.

It's always been a bit raspy - but she's lacking the clarity she used to have in her upper register.

Sounds good, I'm just a bit concerned.

Leander, if you've heard her sing anything non-rock recently, her voice still sounds the same. When she sings rock, she has that rasp--I'd imagine it's a choice, given when it does and doesn't occur.

Riiight. She's by far the best that show's ever had.

It was just so disappointing thinking of how bad Blake's singing voice is while listening to guys like Chris Sligh and Phil tonight...both of them are clearly much more talented singers than Blake. As were most of the girls.

Congrats to Jordin!

I think they should bring back Hasselhoff and Springer to cry together again next year as well. Oh, American Idol, you never fail to capture the oddest audience moments.

My damn Tivo didn't get the last 10 minutes or so. We fast forwarded through much of the performance segments. Bette was so "not good". And for as much as Simon likes to call things "old fashioned" you think someone would get through to the booking people and say, "Yea, um, Smokey Robinson? I don't think on THIS show.

It was still clear that Melinda should have won. She seemed SO much more at ease and even sexy tonight.
I can't wait to see Blake alongside Justin Guarani on the TV Guide Idol recap show next year.
