Oh, if that's the case - that was Jason Mraz's I'm Yours. I love that song, but was not blown away by the group performance of it.
Here it is:

If Allison is only 16 now, I wonder how old she was when this was performed.

re: AMERICAN IDOL#628
Posted: 3/2/09 at 11:55amShe sounds like she has a speech impediment on this one. There also seems to be pitch problems. She does have a cool natural voice but I'm not sure it will hold up- doesn't seem like she has good vocal technique. I do like her though.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#629
Posted: 3/2/09 at 12:36pmI'm watching it, alright. I'll continue watching if they actually focus on the talent, more than the morons who want their, 15 minutes of fame. I like Danny Gokey. Also, sad that Nick/Norman's gone. Crazy person, awesome voice.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#630
Posted: 3/2/09 at 1:04pmIt was the Jason Mraz song. I really liked the group performance of it, but I'm not familiar with the original. Thanks!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#631
Posted: 3/2/09 at 2:18pmI recommend The entire Jason Mraz CD We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. I listen to it constantly.

Posted: 3/2/09 at 5:38pmI am a Jason Mraz fanatic - I love his Tonight, Not Again CD

I'm absolutely hating this season...I've never missed an episode since the very beginning, but IMO, this has got to be the worst bunch of people I've seen in years. There's no one I've seen so far that I can imagine hearing on the radio, and definitely no one I'd buy a CD of.
Last season totally ruined it for me...nothing will compare.

Here are the 12 singing tonight. (I didn't write the descriptions)
Arianna Afsar, adopt-a-grandfather: 16 and likeable
-Felicia Barton, replaced Joanna Pacitti: Haven't seen her, no opinion
-Kendall Beard, blonde Texan: Has the looks--but the pipes?
-Ju'not Joyner, 'Hey There Delilah': Based on 1 great song, I like him
-Scott MacIntyre, blind singer: This guy has the voice/story to win it all
-Nathaniel Marshall, mom's in jail: Disliked him early, like him now
-Kristen McNamara, same name as my friend: Needs to stand out
-Jorge Nuñez, Latin heartthrob: Will he be the first Hispanic Idol?
-Lil Rounds, home hit by tornado: Great voice, will the teens like her?
-Von Smith, Simon called his pick 'indulgent nonsense': Von who?
-Taylor Vaifanua, tall: Reminds me of Jordin Sparks a bit
-Alex Wagner-Trugma, practiced in moldy closet: Funny and interesting

Posted: 3/3/09 at 8:10pmI just got home and missed Von Smith! What did he sing? What did the judges say?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#636
Posted: 3/3/09 at 8:14pm
He sang Your All I Need. All the judges liked him and they were very happy he reigned it in. I, for one, was hoping for the freaky faces and weird sounds he makes..but he actually did a nice job. It was the most normal I have ever seen him.

re: AMERICAN IDOL#637
Posted: 3/3/09 at 8:21pmThanks clever! Good for him! Bad that he went first though because many voters won't remember him at the end of the show!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#638
Posted: 3/3/09 at 8:28pmI'm the only person that likes this Alex kid, aren't I?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#639
Posted: 3/3/09 at 8:30pmNope, I like him too, Juliash. He's way, way more endearing than Von (I thought he was awful, I don't get the judges' comments at all).

Von reeled in the dramatics, he was actually enjoyable.
Poor Alex. I liked him too, but the growling was ridiculous. And after the performance, he was almost socially retarded.

I wanted Alex to do well beacause he has the best sense of humor in the bunch. He's so droll, I love that kid. Plus he's from Studio City so he gets bonus points.
..but he didn't sing very well
re: AMERICAN IDOL#643
Posted: 3/3/09 at 8:48pmJu'not, with a whole new arrangement, just made me love a song I've always hated.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#645
Posted: 3/3/09 at 8:48pmI SO agree...that's how you sing someone else's song...
re: AMERICAN IDOL#646
Posted: 3/3/09 at 8:50pmYeah, they're almost all sucking. Hard. I like Ju'not the best so far...he took a god-awful song and made it only mildly detestable. That takes talent! Updated On: 3/3/09 at 08:50 PM
re: AMERICAN IDOL#648
Posted: 3/3/09 at 8:59pmI dislike Kristen, but she's head and shoulders better than everyone else so far.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#649
Posted: 3/3/09 at 9:00pmHer voice is good, but whenever she talks, my brain is just like "SHHUUUUTTTUPPPPP".
