I'm not a Randy fan either. From the show, you'd think the man has a 20-word vocabulary since he uses the same 20 words all the freakin' time.
This is my first time watching AI and I'm already sick of hearing, "You know, the thing is..." and "The funny thing is..." or the occasional "But you know (dawg), the (funny) thing is...". Get rid of Randy and Simon and replace them with Cyndi Lauper and Sharon Osbourne.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1076
Posted: 3/19/09 at 12:36pmI agree-he's just taking up space at that table.

And he's almost as inconsistant as Paula (who wouldnt know "pitchy" if she sat on it and it spun.)
I think they could do this thing with just Simon and Kara's comments. She's grown on me since the auditions when she insisted on showing auditioners how to "riff".

Posted: 3/19/09 at 1:46pmI agree. Paula needs to get back to her jewelry designing career and Randy to...whatver it is he has been doing on the side. I really find their comments painful to watch and completely irrelevant.

I can handle Paula when she's not egged on by Simon which becomes instantly boring and drags on and on. Kara probably makes the most valid points of all the judges.
Doodle - Um...you know what? I think I know Pitchy. Washington DC, 1998. He's a Marine, right?

1998? I cant remember that far back.
I do recall bumping into Catchy, however.

"I love how first they said she was in the bottom three, then Randy forgot her name, then she was in the bottom two, then told she was the one leaving, had to sing and then told she wasnt worth saving."
LMAO! I almost felt bad for her...almost. I can't stand Paula and am disliking Randy more and more each week. I agree with the previous poster that said get rid of these two and keep Kara and Simon.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1083
Posted: 3/19/09 at 3:32pmI noticed that nasty little prank they pulled when alexis and Michael were standing there, and Alexis was called as the one in the bottom three. Michael must have breathed a sigh of relief and thanked the lord when he sat down. Then Seacrest tells him to stand back up because he's also in the bottom three. LOL.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1084
Posted: 3/19/09 at 3:37pmWhat I hate is when it's down to 7, and they divide them into 2 groups of 3, and then tell the 7th they are safe, and ask him/her to pick what group he/she thinks he/she should be in.

Posted: 3/19/09 at 3:46pmIt's cruel...and could be funny...like American Juniors. Those kids BAWLED! Hilarious.

I have to admit I like AL's Studio Version of ROF alot better than his AI performance.

Yeah, I think the studio recording of Ring of Fire definitely proves that, as strange as the performance may have been, his vocals are freaking SPOT ON. He seriously sounds incredible :) Smooth as butter.
And, you know, the more I think about it, the more I find it funny that people are saying the song and performance made them uncomfortable like that's an inherently bad thing. I mean, maybe I'm wrong, but isn't the whole point of that arrangement to give the song a haunting, scary kind of vibe? To me it's just the kind of thing that seems like it's purposely kind of scary! It's not supposed to be something that like.. makes you really happy or comfy, you know? haha. It reminds me of something that should be in the Twilight movies. And I think the performance just kind of went along with that. It WAS creepy, but the more I think about it the more I feel like that creepiness was very intentional.

Matt, Adam thanks you for your erroneous votes. (Is that the right word?)
Yeah, the studio version is gorgeous. I'm going to download it tomorrow after I add some $ to my itunes account.

I have the itouch/iphone app and Adam didn't exactly say he was doing a ballad THIS week. He said he knows that he needs to work on the intensity of his performances, like Satisfaction was a big and showy. He didn't mention of ROF, not sure when it was recorded. But he says he knows he needs to do a song that is more intimate and subtle and that it's going to be difficult for him to reign it in, but he's working on it and it'll happen ONE week. Didn't say which week though.
In another article from their Detriot visit yesterday, he said Marvin Gaye was his favorite Motown artist. I hope he's smart enough to stay away from Let's Get it on and Sexual Healing, but Mercy Mercy Me could be great.
anoop or scott could get away with those songs with no sexual overtones at all, but Adam, the country would freak out! He's one sexy man..

I am now an Adam fan, but I don't find him sexy in the least. Too much makeup and glitz. I like how it looks for what he's doing, but I don't think androgyny is necessarily sexy.
I saw him in an interview without the stage makeup, hair, and wardrobe and he looked like a cute little boy!
