I really feel bad for Michael. America is rooting for him because he is trying to achieve the classic "American Dream". I want him to be successful, I just don't think American Idol is gonna be the way to do that.
I am excited for Lil, but I especially can't wait for Adam (obviously...). Is he in the pimp spot this week? I missed the first five minutes.

HellsBells, THAT'S IT!! He looks like Kurt Russell. It's been driving me mad who he reminds me of.
Danny should sing a slow song next week. I need a break from his dancing.

Could you BE any more incredible??? Like honestly, that was SO DAMN FANTASTIC.
Dare I say, it beat Cook's Billie Jean. And this coming from a die hard Cook fan. I can't even.. my mom and I were just sitting there in complete awe. The performance will go down in Idol history as one of the greats, without a doubt.
And also, Elvis lookalike much!? daaang is that man beautiful!
Other stand outs of the night:
Allison- SO SO fierce. Nearly up there with Adam!
Kris- He's so adorable, he sounded awesome, and he's such a young James Taylor! Flove him to death
Matt- White boy's got soul! hehe

Methinks you're a little clouded by your unbridled devotion to him...
Adam was definitely one of the best of the night, but I would have liked it even more if he has just sung it straight. There's no need to show off in an arrangement as stripped down as that. He looks a lot better unvarnished as well and while, yes, he's unfailingly polite, his over-intent listening to Smokey came off as a performance.
Lil Rounds was suprisingly bad tonight--very screamy.
Allison killed.

Oh see I thought that seemed EXTREMELY genuine actually :) In general, I always find him to seem really really genuine. As a performer, sure, he's tended to like to go for the big showy vocals up until tonight, but as a person I have never gotten the fake vibe from him. I think he was just truly in awe of being there singing for Smokey Robinson, and was trying to soak up absolutely everything he could from it. I was sitting there going "wow, I very rarely see anyone be so genuinely immersed in what another person is saying! That's so sweet".
Obviously it's all up to perception I guess- nothing wrong if you perceived it as being a bit fake. I just didn't see that at all, and thought it made him seem even more lovely as a person :)
As for the performance, I've listened to and watched it quite a few times over now, and it still hasn't lost it's power for me. Haha. I thought everything about it was spot on and gorgeous. It was soft, it was beautiful, and it was a side of him that we the fans knew he had, but that the average viewer probably didn't know he had. So I think it went a long way in proving to people that he's way more than just a screamer. And it's really not just that he toned it down- it's that he toned it down in order to connect with the song, and so it worked. When you tone it down just for the sake of toning it down, it can sometimes come off as safe or boring. But I felt that what made it work was that, to me at last, it was clear that he REALLY got the lyrics, and fully invested himself in the song, so that it wasn't boring but rather incredibly captivating.
Again though, all a matter of opinion and interpretation :) But for me personally, it's definitely not a clouded opinion. I thought, and still do think, it was brilliant.
Totally agree about Lil, Michael, and Megan for the record. They were terrible.

Just to add to what everyone else is saying...
Adam was absolutely INCREDIBLE. I know I'm a fan, so I'm a bit biased, but that was UNBELIEVABLE. He looked so handsome, too! I would have to agree that his performance will go down in Idol history. Just beautiful.
Good for Allison! I am really rooting for her. She deserves to make it far in this competition.
My prediction-
Megan, Michael, and Scott as the bottom 3 with Megan going home.

I don't split votes, so all of my votes went to Adam, but I really like Allison as well.
Kris is a cutie.
Danny Jokey is annoying as sh*t. However, I'm with Hells on the Scott thing. I just can't look at him anymore. But I think Megan (as gorgeous as she is) is even worse and hope that she is the one to go.
