AMERICAN IDOL

And I totally see the Alexis/young Dolly resemblance
My mom pointed that out weeks ago. I see it too.
Alexis leaving would be disappointing, but not tragic. I had much bigger expectations for her doing Jolene. I hated the arrangement, and while I didn't hear the pitch problems I definitely heard her lose the rhythm.

So Ryan says it's a shocker. who can it be?
These group numbers always make me cringe. I have to look away.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1052
Posted: 3/18/09 at 9:18pmI just caught up with yesterday's. Best part of the evenings was Randy Travis' wife looking pissed after Adam's performance.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1053
Posted: 3/18/09 at 9:26pmHaha, I missed that!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1054
Posted: 3/18/09 at 9:28pmthey were the only two people not clapping in the whole theater when the camera panned to them - i kind of agree, adam's rendition of "ring of fire" sucked.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1055
Posted: 3/18/09 at 9:29pmIt needs a freeze frame. It almost matched the pissed look of Kris' wife when Simon told Kris that he should keep mum on the whole marriage thing.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1056
Posted: 3/18/09 at 10:01pmI cannot believe the top 10 will only have 3 girls.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1058
Posted: 3/18/09 at 10:09pmI'm not surprised that the judges didn't use their save for Alexis, but it's a shame she's not going on tour when the likes of Scott and Megan are. She's a far superior singer, with much better stage presence.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1059
Posted: 3/18/09 at 10:13pmI can't believe they kept Michael. I think he's just plain awful. All the time.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1060
Posted: 3/18/09 at 10:17pmI like Michael. He definitely wasn't the worst of the night. Alexis wasn't either.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1061
Posted: 3/18/09 at 10:18pmI am so pissed about Alexis leaving, she was my favorite female on the show and seriously didn't deserve to leave this early. I really put her in the top 3 or 4. Scott or Michael should have left or even Adam after his extremely bad performance. this year the tour might be easily passed up by many now!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1062
Posted: 3/18/09 at 10:21pmAw, I liked Alexis. Bummer.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1063
Posted: 3/18/09 at 10:45pmMichael should have been gone a long time ago. His appeal escapes me. What a mook.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1064
Posted: 3/18/09 at 11:01pmWhy are so many people up in arms about Adam's version of RING OF FIRE? I am so tired of everyone doing, pretty much, a bar karaoke session, sounding like the original artist. I thought it was original and fantastic.

I guess Alexis' exit disproves the pre-selected Final Four controversy.

I liked Alexis.

Not gonna lie, I like the studio version of Adam Lambert's Ring of Fire. It's a little softer on the intense Adam Lambert screechiness (the bad part) and a little heavier on the Buckley influence (the good part). Although, while I noted last night that he was definitely doing a Jeff Buckley (especially New Year's Prayer) thing with the song, I don't know where Randy Jackson got the idea Adam was working off a Jeff Buckley version. There is no such thing.
Randy Jackson is seriously so dumb. He throws out these buzzwords of references to seem relevant, and is so off base. Every. Single. Time. "MyChemicalFallOutRPattz meets Nine Inch Nails, IT'S DOPE BABY! CURRNT CURRNT!" In the meantime, Paula Abdul gets flak for being incomprehensible, but if you can decipher mumbo-jumbo (I'm well versed) there is actually legitimate content to what she says twice as often as there is to anything Randy Jackson spews.
I don't think Alexis should have gone home. Oh well.

I was never much of an Alexis fan, but for her to go before Michael or Megan is just wrong. But watch...they like her enough to make it a Top 11 tour. I wouldn't be at all surprised.
I'm not a Randy fan either. From the show, you'd think the man has a 20-word vocabulary since he uses the same 20 words all the freakin' time.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1069
Posted: 3/19/09 at 8:08amI wish Scott would go.........yuck. I felt so bad when Randy called Alexis Allison. WTF is wrong with him?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1070
Posted: 3/19/09 at 8:51amBy the way, I heard on the NY Fox local news that next week is Motown week. What would you recommend for each singer?

I wish they had used the save last night just so they could get rid of that dumb ass rule for the season.
I'm downloading Ring of Fire tonight. Loved it.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1072
Posted: 3/19/09 at 11:53amI would have been happy if they both got eliminated. I dislike both Alexis and Michael equally. Oh and there is a studio version of Adam's Ring of Fire? I'll have to download that as well!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1073
Posted: 3/19/09 at 11:58amI heard elsewhere that Adam said in his iphone confessional (whatever that is) that he's going to do a ballad next week! YAY!

I picked Alexis to go in my office pool, so have vaulted into first place.
I love how first they said she was in the bottom three, then Randy forgot her name, then she was in the bottom two, then told she was the one leaving, had to sing and then told she wasnt worth saving.
They love humiliating these kids.
