AMERICAN IDOL

I hate Danny. He is so unmarketable it's not funny. If he wins, they have another Taylor Hicks on their hands. Yuck. Danny Dorkey. So boring.
I thought it was Kris, Adam and then Allison. Matt does nothing for me.
I don't split votes, so I just voted Adam.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1251
Posted: 4/1/09 at 7:32amAlthough I love Adam, I've gotta say Kris is really growing on me...
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1252
Posted: 4/1/09 at 8:24amYeah, I like Kris too. I just refuse to split votes. I learned that the hard way after the Chris Daughtry debacle. I was worried for Elliot so I split votes that night. I think alot of people did that, and Chris ended up getting the boot. Not that it did him any harm......
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1253
Posted: 4/1/09 at 8:33amI hate that the bar is so low for Scott that the judges heaped praise on him for that performance.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1254
Posted: 4/1/09 at 8:34amScott looks like a cross between Dennis DeYoung from Styx and a vampire from Salem's Lot.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1255
Posted: 4/1/09 at 8:34amI really don't know what they saw.... it must have been a different performance from the one I saw! He really was not that good, and I don't see why Paula liked his hair... It was really REALLY bad

"Scott looks like a cross between Dennis DeYoung from Styx and a vampire from Salem's Lot."
If only he sang like DeYoung. To me, the last thing I want to see is some mediocre singer sitting at a piano and singing a Billy Joel song. All it does is beg comparisons to the original, and Scott fails miserably in that regard.

I didn't think anyone was that good last night. I'm not downloading any of those songs. I thought they were way too harsh on Matt. They were wayyyyy too kind to Scott. I liked Allison's little dress. I thought Danny was terrible.
I really wish Scott and his weird hair would go home.

Dialidol Spoiler...beware:
It has Allison and Megan in the bottom two...Allison's got to get those grocery store patrons to call in more! She doesnt deserve to be anywhere near the bottom.
Spoiler alert over.

My questions for the week:
What the hell is "Studio 57?"
Why did the judges tell Lil the first week to stay away from Mary J. Blige songs because it was a little too close to who she aspires to be and then proceed to criticize her every week for not picking Mary J. Blige songs?
Did Matt have a big zit in the middle of his forehead all along, and I just noticed it for the first time last night?
Why does Ryan continue to ask Randy what the contestants need to do at the beginning of the show when it elicits the same mumbley response every week?

I absolutely hated Adam's performance last night. I thought it was a self-indulgent screechy mess. I think it was my least favorite performance of his thus far.
My favorites of the night:
Danny
Kris
Scott (not a fan, but he performed well)
Allison (I don't know why they bitched about her look so much; it was very Kelly Osbourne)
Lil
I've no doubt Megan will be the next to go considering her track record thus far.

LOL at Studio 57...I thought maybe it was some hip reference that I was totally missing...
That will be a shame if Allison goes, but it wouldn't surprise me either. I'm sure they would save her.

I don't think they'd use the save this early, danmag.
Yeah, the Studio 57 thing was classic. My husband and I just looked at each other and said "Did she really just say that?"
Calvin, I think Matt has a big ole mole on his forehead. It's like a target. I can't not stare at it.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1264
Posted: 4/1/09 at 12:32pmRumor is that Adam's song didn't clear and he had 24 hours to rehearse something else. He wanted to do Crazy by Gnarles Barkley. That explains the nice shout out to the band!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1266
Posted: 4/1/09 at 1:09pmLast night was the first time I enjoy a Kris performance and disliked Adam's.

"Crazy" has a fair amount of potential falsetto screech so it would have been perfect for Adam.
I think last night sealed Scott's fate post-idol. He has a definite future...as a cruise ship entertainer.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1268
Posted: 4/1/09 at 1:30pmI seriously cannot stand watching Scott. He sounds the same every single week. His expressions make me cringe. "We love the new look, the hair..." Yeah, how about we take it one step further and CUT it? Geez. I think the judges were pretty set on wanting Megan to go home, regardless of how she did. She sounded terrible but I would rather watch her than Scott. I love Adam, his technique is amazing to me. He is the only one who doesn't belt(scream) his high notes. Kris, I must say, has really grown on me.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1269
Posted: 4/1/09 at 1:36pmIf Allison goes home instead of Scott, I may have to scream.

"moley moley moley... "
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I heard that about Adam's song as well, btw, sr4.......

I must be a grumpy old woman, because I just can't get into this season. I don't have a contestant that I'm really excited about this year. I guess my favorites are Kris and Allison, but there are no Kelly Clarksons, David Cooks, Elliot Yamins, Melinda Doolittles or Chris Daughtrys for me to root for yet.
Maybe I'm not very invested because it's obvious Adam is going to win and he's just not my style.
Yeah, grumpy old woman.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1272
Posted: 4/1/09 at 2:14pmI don't think that's obvious at all newgirl! I think for some reason that I don't understand, they want Danny Jokey to win.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1273
Posted: 4/1/09 at 2:20pmDanny has no commercial upside, so I don't think the 'plan' was ever for him to win. I think it was to milk his sentimental story for all it's worth. Same with Scott.
